Small speaker for Ipod

My girlfriend just gave me her old Ipod. This is my first one and I think its pretty sweet but just thought to try and mount a couple small speakers into my scaler like subs in the back. (K5 body).

Has anyone else tryed this. I thought about tearing apart my headphones but even cranked they are fairly quiet.

i stuffed 4 altec lansing speakers in my chevy clod interior i built and man this things loud, literally shakes the truck a bit lol but X2 on not using headphone speakers they wont be loud at all, i went to walmart and bought a couple altec lansing ipod docks and wired them together and its very impressive

So how would this work? you build a mini box for the speakers and then wire them up to??? a hidden Ipod or what? I really like this idea.

This is my Honcho , tunes are from a Gigaware MP3 player with built in speaker . The player is about 1" wide 2" long and 5/16" thick . It is mounted under the spare tire . The wind was blowin" bad outside tonite but you can still hear it . "thumbsup"

nice badd i think i seen your build thread when you put that in your rig, soudns good. if you use an ipod/mp3 dock it will obviously have circuit boards in it so i have two circuit boards mounted undernieth my interior(velcro'd) and then a plug to connect the 8 AAA batteries under the box of my chevy, 4 speakers is a little exsessive but i like my sound. i can put it in my room and hear it anywhere throughout my house crisp and clear its so loud, and mine wasnt exactly an ipod dock it was meant for mp3's so it has a headphone jack so i ended up buying a Y connector to connect the 2 headphone jacks from each amp upto my ipod thats hidden in the toolbox in the box of my truck, works awesome and is really clean with no wires showing or anything but 4 10" scale subwoofers lol. try it out it was easy and sounds awesome, gives the whole crawlin crew good crisp tunes to listen to while out adventuring! you dont haveta make a styrene enclosure depending on the body you have and depending on the dock system you get, ive seen some mp3 docks that look like a nice subwoofer box so you could jus mount it up sumwhere and be done with it in 5 minutes.
