Ottsix TKO10

^^^ What he said... see post #173 in this thread for prototype pictures of the V2 from their Facebook page. No dates of release yet, to my knowledge.

I wish they would release another version utilizing the new SCX 2 internals to shrink the center. I'm switching my SCX over to the new axles this winter. Been holding off picking up parts for more aftermarket options.

That's the smart move. The new SCX10 II axles are true high pinion, much smaller everywhere, better geometry on the lower link mounts, and the stock gearing is even more underdriven than the 43/13 underdrives we have available for the old axles. There's no point to these TKOs anymore in my opinion. It's an inferior design to what's available now, time to move on.

It's a good option for those that already run an SCX10. Just swap over everything and you're done.

If it was just $30 to swap in new housings I might agree. But with the new mandatory front and rear trusses, you're pushing $85 before shipping. That's too expensive to be nostalgic with your old knuckles. The TKO housings require different upper links too so whether you buy them or make them it's another cost consideration. IMHO, it'd be worth it if there were more design improvements than just moving the pinion higher. They didn't even bother to enlarge the pinion bearings. It's just not worth it with the option of the new AR44 being far superior in design and function.

I still like the idea of a plastic diamond axle. Makes gear set changes harder but gives a smoother approach and I prefer plastic. I'm surprised there aren't more aftermarket options for the new the scx axles. It's early but I'd like to see what magic Vanquish does with C's and Knuckles before I piece together a set.

Since I haven't found any rear trusses available to purchase, has anyone offered a 3D printed one? Seems like there may be a lot of people like me that have a housing and didn't get a truss only later to find out the trusses were no longer available. Hate to just throw away the housing!

The v2 is coming shortly and the trusses will work. Also think I saw here that the r2j rear truss works as well
