Official venom factory support thread

So, is Venom planning on supplying a skid plate to those of us that have purchased the Creeper prior to the skid plate being included? And if not, is it just a kick in the balls to the guys that have shown the supplier the need for one and have guinea pigged the rig for the R&D department?

I love my creeper. The skid is the main hang up I have seen with it. I kinda of BS to now have to purchase a skid that should have A, been included with it from the begining and B having to pay for something you now include for free.

YEAH.....ARE WE????? PLEEEEEEEEEEZE "thumbsup"PREEEETY PLEEEEZE, with a cherry on top?;-)

@pete
Next time just contact us for a replacement so you dont have to worry about the part. It's no problem."thumbsup"

@CSaddict
I understand your point and I can see how you would come to that conclusion. All products under go development and change over time and just like most companies we state clearly that the product is subject to change wthout notice. The skidplate was an improvement to the kit we had planned to do and we discussed it as a possible option part but decided to just make it standard and replace the original parts. Its not a free part its included in the kit and replaces the original parts. The replacemet parts have been updated to this new part as well. http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VEN-8348&tp=

The skid plate should be here in the next shipment of the parts and kits coming this month. I cant be specific as I'm not positive right now. The part number for the skid plate is the same as the original 2 pc design VEN 8348. The new part will replace the old part in production.

kits are in stock, as well as most of the parts ;)

Can you confirm the skid is available now?
last I heard, I called them two days ago, it wasn't.

Although the alloy dif cases are in stock. Anyone think I will have problems if i wait until my stock set wears out before replacing?

since i am unlocking and locking alot it might wear soon.... driving my creeper with panther tires, and with the remote diff locks, if i do get a tire pinched in a spot, I can unlock that axle and have the rest of the non stuck wheels pull it out! New trick i learned, I am sure I am the last to figure this out.

i blow the spider set out in front and instead of replacing it i got the alloy diff cases and axial locker did sum grinding on the cases,locker and axles no worry's now

Its going to be a little bit longer before the dig is in full produciton but for sure by early summer.
The spider gears are pretty tough and have held up to huge torque loads in testing with about 500-600W of power at hand. Make sure things are lubed and mesh well.
The parts are in stock and shipping quickly so if you dont see them in stock on our site you can call us to confirm they are in or place an order. Check with your local stores too because they are the ones buying all our parts up!

what are those new links? i missed that new info

"The skidplate is in stock now and shipping to dealers.
New links are in stock.
New stiffer springs are in stock."

Called customer service for a new stub axel and orderd the new center skid plate and other extra parts. Also asked about the above mentioned new links and new stiffer springs and the rep. knew nothing about them...and there is nothing listed on the site.

Also no date on the dig as of today when I called. Would think they would try and beat losi to the punch, if they dont, fear it will kill sales of the creeper..

I agree, customer service doesn't seem to know much on the creeper latley, when it first came out and i called in, they seemed much more aware of the forums and things being discussed.

I spoke with Chris and was able to get some of the bent rod ends. the new ones have a number and look much thicker. I havent broken one yet, I replaced all 4 of the ends on my lower links where they connect to the axle. I have broke three of the originals.

I find my stock springs no longer hold the weight of the rig up, even with the shocks adjusted up all the way. I would prefer to stay with black or red springs, for the sake of matching the rest of my parts.

As for the dig, i dont think there is much we can do but wait. For a part like that to get made and at a decent price for the end user, it will take some time. I am sure there are numerus manufactures involved in getting all the parts ready, passing testing and revising then testing again... plus the fact these things are all made in china only makes it take that much longer i am sure.

also AFAIK, the losi won't have the diff locks, something I wouldnt trade for worm drive at this point.
Not sure how useful front AND rear dig would be.
I may however sell off my ax10 and a "go fast" rig and get one just to have it.
