Chris,

The gearbox/tranny said to grease it... Do I need to fill it up compeltely with an extremely thick silicone oil or do I just use a thick silicone grease coated completely on the gears?

Also book says to experiment with different viscosities of grease in the diffs to basically simulate an LSD in a sense... what do you recommend to allow minimal slippage but not fully locked?

Thanks,

Jon

P.S. When is the new skid plate going to be available?? Also I sent an email to customer service about a part for the creeper.

I just noticed a short VCD on mine is broken where it pivots. :-( Besides that it has been a very fun truck.

yeah, so thats cool!

Venom is making some nice upgrades for this rig and I can't wait to see what else is to come this summer and beyond.

The skid plate should be here in the next shipment of the parts and kits coming this month. I cant be specific as I'm not positive right now. The part number for the skid plate is the same as the original 2 pc design VEN 8348. The new part will replace the old part in production.

I have another test Creeper that has the Dig Unit installed "thumbsup" This silver version was the first test bed and has many hours driving on it since last summer and through the winter in all conditions and temps.

@wnagangkid
Just coat the gears in the tranny with a regular grease or the Red grease included in the kit. The diff grease I suggest is a high tack anti fling type like marine grease or similar. Just pack it in the case and let it ooz out and then assemble the diff and spin it to push out the excess. It will be tough to turn by hand but with a wheel it will be easier. It will break in and be smooth.

Thank you for updated VEN-8300 Venom Creeper Instruction V2.pdf that comes in vector format, old one V2 was hard to read :(

How do we get replacements for the defective axles? Mine broke and I have only driven it probably 30 min. total.

If you call Customer Service they can help you or you can PM me with your address info and part numbers and I can help speed you along.

what about wide range of pinion and spur gears?
I'd try smaller pinion, but don't know for sure what to buy.
Thank you

I do know the pinions off a Mini Titan helicopter will fit since I tried one on mine. I am not sure what modulus they are though.

So, is Venom planning on supplying a skid plate to those of us that have purchased the Creeper prior to the skid plate being included? And if not, is it just a kick in the balls to the guys that have shown the supplier the need for one and have guinea pigged the rig for the R&D department?

I love my creeper. The skid is the main hang up I have seen with it. I kinda of BS to now have to purchase a skid that should have A, been included with it from the begining and B having to pay for something you now include for free.

I just finished my creeper. went together well but I had one problem. One of the axle shafts did not have the small hole in it for small rod that keeps the hub from spinning. I did not want to wait for a new peice so I drilled a hole in it fo finish the assembly. Im kinda worried about it breaking down the road.
