As they have working samples and exhibition models, I'm sure it will be released in the next few months.
The time/money has already been spent on it. The hard part is done. So it's just a matter of production and packing now.

They also have an investment in the 1/5th Baja 5R Mustang that was announced at the January 2015 toy fair and still has not been released. Not to mention it's based off an already existing platform in the Baja so it shouldn't take over a year for the tooling, etc. to to come on line.

As much as I'd like to see this released, I don't see it happening anytime this year if at all.

Keep your chin up. Didn't it take more than 2 years for the Savage Octane to come to market after they debuted it? We might get the FJ in summer 2018!

Lame. It would be nice to see more companies large enough to complete with traxxas to drive innovation up and price down but that doesn't seem to be happening.

Traxass and HPI may have been in negotiations about the acquisition for quite some time. Perhaps the redirect was a real hint about the buyout. Hope that Traxass saw value in the FJ way back but I'm not holding my breath.
