My Berg Rebuild

While I was rebuilding this front axle I decided to take some pics to show more of it. I was a bit surprised when I saw that the tube was sealed even when it was cut for a JR servo. Nice thinking on making the tubes a smaller inner diameter Bryan! ;-)

When it came down to installing my RCBro lightweight locker I had come to screeching halt. The guy who I bought these axles from had used red loctite on the locker screws. I had enough parts to build another locker so I decided to just keep the stock locker as a spare.

Here comes another screeching halt. No 3x3 countersunks! :x

I knew that the LHS didnt have any because I looked the other day and I don't have time to order any for this weekends comp so I made some out of some longer 3mm countersunks. Jeepcj578 showed me this little trick and it works great.

Lock it in a vice and get to hacking. I used a dremel. You will have to do a little fine grinding to get your cut smooth.

Nice work! When I first got my berg axles and took them apart and saw those damn screws.....I immediately ordered some spares!

Everything is just about ready to go. I just need to finish the panels, throw some wheels on this thing and I am done. As soon as I finish up my sammich I will be back at it.

It has been brought to my attention that I am skipping around on certain details so I will try to be detailed in this post.

In this pics below you will see:

Here are the finished pics. All of the custom stickers are from Bowtie. (grill -headlights- tailights- name- rc chop shop)
There will always be a 86jeep sticker on my rig as long as I don't run out of stickers :ror:
