Binaryterror's Late 2012 Rebuild - T1E Sniper

Man.... Jake this thing is looking "KILLER" can't wait to see it and comp against it ... it is looking great keep up on the progress thanks for posting pictures "thumbsup"

No links yet ordered direct almost a week ago and still waiting...grrrr.

Here are the 2012 Nationals skins. Trying out some different plastic way thinner but the different material might be better when this thin. Michelle @ Krawler Konceptz does some amazing work guys!

Well tons more progress, more pics soon. Will be comping with it this weekend.

Ti links bent, shocks set up, electronics - still working on getting things the way I want, really just minor bits left.

Hard to tell these were once Kyoshos. Thanks to Farmer on the hook up. They were turned down and made 1/8" shorter. Lengths are 3.75 with kyosho short ends an 4" with traxxas on the bottom. I usually like a longer shocks more laid down than shorter shocks. We will see how it works.

Looking sweet man, looks like a real winner. Let's see those links!!!"thumbsup" Get those boss claws already so I can hook em up for ya. No problem on the shocks, now you have to build my agent links after Nats:flipoff:

Those are some awesome skins and the shocks look really nice too. When we gonna see this rig all buttoned up???

This week, it will be comping this Sunday. Hoping to get some batteries through it before showing up the the comp. I'm a bit too fussy over the small details...like last night was 3 hours of wiring that most people would throw a few zip ties and call it good enough.

Wow, the shocks look great. Nice"thumbsup"

Thanks!

Oh jeez...I'm not sure my brain can handle bending your links again to levels of tolerance that would make Nasa/Aerospace companies think I'm clinically crazy.

Boss claws in bound...have sedonas and rovers that probably need some clapping too. Maybe I bring over full growlers of delicious nectar and get them sanded. At least learn the tricks on the Boss Claws.

Looking like a winner for sure"thumbsup" I like those shocks, Im looking forward to seeing what you think of a longer shock on this chassis. while I was waiting on my 3.5" shocks I tried some 4" big bores and it just didnt feel "right" to me. I dont think I layed them down as much as I could of tho.

Carry on"thumbsup"

Got dead spots in them there shocks?? I tried for an entire hour to get one shock built without a dead spot and it just wasn't happening. Fug it....

You must be doing something wrong. I have now built 3 sets of these shocks all at different lenths. By far the smoothest shock I have built. Must be in your head:mrgreen:

Hmmm - still needs final touches but very close. WB is about perfect. Caster/Roll centers look good to start. Shock feel stiff. Weight as shown in images (no battery or knuckles weights) is 4.47lbs. So by the time I get the sanded claws and the CF wheels theres a good weight savings. This thing might be closer to 5lbs, not 5.5lbs like I thought.

Ideas on ride heights guys?

Pics, because thats more fun to look at than me ramble on:

Electronics - still needs finishing and some more tidying

Just curious why you have the white delrin spacers mounted outside of the shock rod ends at the chassis? Do you not get any binding with the spring cup and the chassis during suspension travel to each side?

Absolutely no binding or touching the chassis/cab during the suspension cycle. I really only left them on the truck on the outside as a way to change them quick for the first running of the truck. For our comp this weekend they will be removed.

I also plan to make some cross braces for the shock mounts out of aluminum tube. Just for some safety addition.
