The rental rebuild.

Thanks to the adjustments available on the rear shock mount on the unstuck V2 from krazed builds I dropped the tail a notch and had to clearance the bed floor a bit. Totally worth the effort I'm sure.

Soooo yea... Felt froggy the other day when I saw red 4.19" klr's in stock at rpp so I ordered a set of them up and promptly cut them apart. :lmao:

Got to feeling even froggier and cut up some perfectly good gold voodoo pins for their sidewalls. First cut & shut job I've ever done. Came out good enough for me.

Takes a set to cut up new tires !!

If I had done a practice set I'd have screwed them up because there was no pressure.

Excellent work on your cut n shuts"thumbsup"
How tall did they finish out?

Thanks, they're 5 3/4 as they stand unmounted. I figure I run enough weight up front to make them work but I may end up removing a bunch of material from inside in the tread area to loosen them up. At least doing them this way I avoided removing all that sidewall reinforcement.

Spent about an hour on a busted up pavement & concrete pile today. These tires suck, I highly recommend everyone buy hyrax instead. Especially those in the PNW in the sportsman class...

Do you have narrowed hyrax tires?

Do they really suck, or is that just a way to keep others from building a set? I have built a few sets of cut n shut tires that didn't quite perform the way I had hoped. It's definitely a disappointment, but the experience and knowledge gained is a nice trade off. What does this sporty weigh RTR? Maybe the truck doesn't have enough weight to provide the needed contact pressure to make the tire work? The 1.9 KLR is so heavily re-enforced that it needs the heavier weight to make them work (IMO), which is why they work well on heavier scale crawlers.

Based on past experience, I'm hearing sarcasm, and believe he's loving the tires... he just left out the usual :flipoff:!

...I do so love the internet (sigh) "thumbsup"

It really is a kick to the dick when a tire you've put so much time into modifying and working on is junk. Jconcepts scorpios are a perfect example. I shaved them inside and out so they were flexible. Modified every single block of tread in some way and they were still hot garbage. They live in the back of my shelf until I bring myself to cut the sidewalls off.

Sarcasm? Meeeeeeee? Never.

This rig is just under 5 lbs. Believe it was 4.92 with a 1300 4s pack. Yes huge battery, I like to party for more than 6 minutes at a time.

I think I have enough weight. Should I add more?

Re: The rental rebuild, Aka side piece.

I’m guessing we can finally get some un edited pics?[emoji3]
