Binaryterror's Late 2012 Rebuild - T1E Sniper

Since your shooting for the mid 5lb. range, I'd say to try the rears in the 2nd hole from the top or the top and the fronts in the 3rd hole from the top and see where that puts you.

Thats where I'll start for now. I may go below mid 5's, but I'm not pushing it. My driving style is too slow/smooth and driving a light truck it feels like I'm typically unable to keep up with its snappy movement if you will.

Really need to find someone to lathe down these Kyosho Shocks...all those threads are useless.

Tonight I should have a roller on mock links and the previous axle set ups, then begins hopefully many more pics.

Thats actually exactly the right driving style for a light truck. Also, if you commit to the lightweight and tune the truck accordingly, it shouldnt be darty. Mine is unbelievably smooth and predictable...That surprised me alot the first time I drove it because I had the same thoughts as you going into it. Not anymore though "thumbsup"

Sweet! Looking forward to checking it out "thumbsup"

Oh look thank you TCS, some much needed but hard to find in stock items:

And once again thanks to Nick/BTF @ T1E getting these out to me!

Aluminum hardware on the way from Fastener Express and then just waiting on the DLUX new axles and everything should be here to make for a fun build.

Tempted to grind the SLW hubs down to lose weight there on these 725/850's. Anyone done this yet? Surely I can't be the only one to think of that idea.

Can't wait for this thing to run. Ok off to go plan Sidewinder Micro smashing - shouldn't I be working at work? LOL

Here's pretty close to final for the Sidewinder Smash Brothers event, not final still need the wiring shortened but that will likely wait until just being put in the chassis.

Everything I ordered is in...except Ti links (don't know what sizes just yet). Hoping to have a roller + elecs by weekend's end if time allows.

Oh and I forgot bearings, but local shop should have some of those for me.

Upper aluminum links are now threaded to 4mm. Aluminum screws curing now with red loctite.

DLUX 7075 long axle in and test fit. PERFECT FIT! Thanks Erik...I can't believe how light these are and the tolerances you maintained. Anyone needing axles or lightweight tricks, these axles are legit!

Just doing small assembly with the aluminum and Titanium screws.

May round up the cases kinda torn on the upper link mounts...either try to hack some holes in them or maybe...

Well got some major progress done and final parts ordered (Ti links for the lowers).

Uppers are 1/4" tube with 4mm aluminum screws...I'd prefer 3mm but I have never liked the 3mm rod ends enough, so this is fine. 2 grams lighter than the Ti that came off the BJ4 that we all much shorter than these.

Lowers are custom 4mm allthread...:lmao:. Just for now, waiting on the Ti to come in for some bends.

Ignore the shocks 4" bigbores just to see suspension cycle since my Kyoshos are out being adjusted some. Also ignore the bull bar style steering rod...that was to set toe to 0* while checking wheel base . She get to a frog hair over 12.375" so we should be good to go!
