Congratz to the win Ashton, good job "thumbsup"
Yes. I just used the moonbuggy pieces which allowed for me to keep the holes in line with each other.
Thanks, Shelby! I have to say that I was pretty confident in these changes. Before the comp I went out to my lake spot and the rig pulled off some lines that it's never been able to pull. It also executed lines on the first try where in the past it would take multiple attempts. That was a very assuring test day. :shock:Congrats on the win and the successful gamble on all the new changes! Bold moves get big rewards. "thumbsup"

Thanks man, but I have to give credit to the great chassis builders that we have today. Then I give credit to Shane for kicking my ass with a light weight rig. That fueled a lot of this. :ror:Congrats on the win Ashton!
Glad to see your hard work and creativity payed off!
Congrats on the win!
It sounds like this change is similar to what a lot of the "next gen" chassis are running now. I'm glad its working for ya "thumbsup"
So I was looking back at the hybrid chassis pics. How about those rear uppers? They look lower than the lowest "stock" position. Are they still one hole above where your fronts are now? And is that a hole below the lowest stock position or the same place but with a raised cab?
does that make sense?
:ror:
The rear uppers are lower (precisely one hole down) than the lowest stock position and yes they are still one above the fronts. The front uppers are two holes down from the lowest stock position without a raised cab.
Wow... you took it a little farther than I did with the XR. Any negatives to it so far?
Looks great Ashton, hope you don't mind but I borrowed your idea with the upper link holes. I haven't got a chance to test it but it looks promising.
Did you use a moonbuggy or just re-drill the SS?
Good luck with it"thumbsup""thumbsup"
I just cut new plates from delrin, I also made a set the has more rear clearance but decided to leave the lower link geometry stock and just moved the uppers. Thanks for the inspiration, I've always wanted to level out the rear links, just wasn't sure of the right way.
I still have my delrin ss, last night I drilled extra holes in it to see how it would turn out. Its a fine option if you don't already have links or if you don't mind a couple of mm difference in the axle position.
You chose to use the Moon buggy chassis so you could put the holes where you could use the same uppers right?
The truck looks like it flows very well in the vids"thumbsup"
Congrats and nice driving man. Thanks for the vids. That rock looks fun.

Congrats Ashton"thumbsup"
I've done the same to my SS just not as extreme as yours and it really made a big difference. I guess I'll drill one more hole lower on both the front and rear. I used the SS plates, but just made up the difference with some trimmed jatos. Your truck looked dialed in the videos. Thanks for sharing your set-up and impressions with us."thumbsup"
Thank you sir and you are welcome. Have you seen my gate 3 attempt on course 4 yet? That was a real tough one. I gunned it and hoped for the best :ror:
