Has anyone done anythng with there shocks either different shock oil or different springs ot different shocks? Would like to know what changes and the why. Thanks, Jerry
"thumbsup"
I'll assume this is in regards to superclass crawlers?? Or just in general?
My 2.2 set up is as follows

Front L 20wt oil Losi yellow spring ---- Front R 20wt oil Losi yellow spring
Rear L 50wt oil----- Rear R 35wt oil
Traxxas black front stampede springs in the rear

This is what I was looking for, Thank you. I havn't seen much posted on shocks and springs at all and especially the difference in oil. Jerry"thumbsup"

Cool, I hope this helps. I run this set up to help combat torque twist. Add or reduce pre-load as needed to adjust ride height (keep the body/chasiss level.

With a clod 2.2 you want to keep the right and left hand sides the same weight. I have run 20 or 35 wt with good results. Really just depends on your battery placement, is it on the axle is on the chassis, how heavy is your chassis; things like that.

the lower the wt the more freely the suspension will move. but also keep in mind that spring and oil go hand in hand. too heavy of oil and low spring tension will yeld a slow moving and slow centering response. low wt and high spring will yeld a very bouncy ride.

just food for thought Jerry, hope it helped

happy new year fella's"thumbsup" , btw rcracer the lucky dog huh? looks like gonna be nice 2.2 ...later

this will be the first chassis I didn't make. looking forward to getting it together for the comps in the spring but I still need a tq3 and a 645mg

clio hs has a tq3 for $40.00 and no receiver through .....a 645:shock:  no no dont....imo i will never buy a 645 again , i ate the gear after 4 packs worth of play and had to flip the gear and put a servo saver on it to save that $40 dollar crap i just brought ......

something was wrong skinner as the 645mg is all I run and no problems. I havn't had to run a servo saver either. Jerry
"thumbsup"

Yeah me too Jerry, I haven't had one problem with a 645. Skinner it's more of a driving style than anything that can save a servo but servo savers do pay off to use. Though a good tumble down some steep rocks without a saver would do in most any servo.

Hay Scott, Mabee thats why I havn't had much trouble as I do have a very different driving style, most of the time upside down on the roof of the truck. Jerry:lol:

Like to wish everyone here a very happy new year also and wish you the best for 2007. With not much to do here been just working on the trucks. There ready for the rocks so hopefully I will be also. Gary you got me started back with a clod, am really enjoying it. Take care everyone and happy new year, Jerry

hey bam bam, has your dad got started on his crawler yet. just was wondering, i might stop by today sometime if you guy's are going to be home, take care gary.

hope u all had a good one"thumbsup" btw jerry and scott , i wanted to say maybe i drive to much hard core lol..been driving it with 3 wheels in air on objects..and so jerry u always on ur roof?? later.....

Ask Scott, Gary or Bam and I think Eric as they watched me trying to drive. My Employer told me they thought I was too old to drive any more so they retired me. What can I say as I need to drive something. I have decided to practice more this coming year though but hay, at least your truck isn't running when mine is so I can't run over anybody in crawling.
