New Holmes Hobbies Motor Coming Soon (Crawlmaster V2)

Thinking of getting this motor to run in the H10 Origin.
What ESC would be the best? Would like to have it water proof.
Holmes CMV3 and conformal coat the shit out of it?
Or is there maybe a better option that would be water proof?

Several of the AM32 ESCs are the same board...Dlux, Silent Assassin, Exo Belay, and the Stilte to name a few. They vary a good bit in price and some are conformal coated. Some of those have a BEC but it is not adequate for a high torque servo. The CMV3 is a 40A Rhino built to Holmes specs.

I'm running an 80 amp Rhino in one rig and an Exo Belay in another. The Belay is smaller and lighter, even with an external BEC. It has a random quirk where it does not power up properly and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in. Other than that, it works fine. The Rhino is about a year and a half old and it has been submerged on more than one occasion. Its kinda chunky but other than that, I like it. Reefs servos have a disclaimer to not use Rhino electronics with their servos though. Not sure exactly why. I've been using their winch with it the whole time, plus about 8 months on another truck.

Great Info. Thanks. And I have 2 Reefs for the kit when it gets here already. A Triple 8 4s direct power servo and an IS:800 winch servo if I want to add winch to it, which I probably will. so the BEC will only need to power the winch and maybe lights, But I could just BEC those and run a bypass loom.
I hear the SAs are nice, but a bit $$ in comparison to the others. I have a 40a Rino in one rig but that one has an 9Imod 45kg servo and for what little use its had is running well, but there I also have a BEC on it so.

Never heard of the last 2, Exo Belay or the Stilte. I forgot Dlux had a 32 available also.
Holmes is oos on his right now, but I have a lil time for it to come back into stock before the kit is here.

Dlux Fab has the HH Crawlmaster Mini v3 in stock for the same price as direct, just as an FYI...

Looks like they have all the HH Crawlmaster variations, even the v2 that they soldered and waterproofed themselves.

I use Corrosion X. I put it in a pickle jar and dip the servo, esc and etc in it. Servos I loosen the screws so it gets inside also. This size I share with my bro.

I have a 2300 on the way. I bought a stubby kit for my Carbon a couple months ago when I saw your teasers about this motor. If you do manage to 2 in 1 these at some point, it would be great if they were 4s capable.

I will only release products that are 4s capable at this point :)

I finally got my 1800KV Cralwmaster V2 up and running in my H10 kit. I only crawled around inside a tiny bit but I am impressed already, the low speed start up is super smooth and low as hell.

I'm using the stock VFD gearing (13T pinion? and stock 56T spur gear) with a HH Crawlmaster HV ESC running a 4S LIHV. I'm surprised that it doesnt feel like it needs to be geared down but maybe that will change once I get it out on the rocks.

Oh and one side note regarding the Crawlmaster HV ESC, they dont point out what programmer to use on their site so I tried both the version for the V1 and the V3. It works with the V3 version that uses a 5 volt input (V1 uses 3.3 volt I believe). I would assume any AM32 programmer using 5v could work too. I dont think Holmes sells this individually anymore though they do come with the V3 Crawlmaster ESCs.

Now I should add that theres really no need to reprogram these ESCs as they come pretty dialed in but I always like to poke around. All I did was move the LVC up to 3.4v per cell, it was 3.2v and I adjusted the KV and pole count which JRH says doesnt effect much at all.

If anyone wants more info on programming the Holmes Hobbies Youtube has a few usefull videos on it:

This one is more of a troubleshooting video:
