Michigan Roll Call

hey Jerry nice clod."thumbsup" Shrek made that huh? it looks cleaner than my jigsaw version of it. what are the side plates made of? btw my lhs only had 11 tooth gears:-( . later and merry christmas you Michigan Crawlers"thumbsup"

emaxx crawler

I sold my emaxx crawler as I thought I could do better wirh a clod based crawler for the super class. I ran a 9 tooth pinion and 72 tooth spur and didn't think i was low enough on gearing so I would want to use a gear reduction and then you might have a decent crawler. Mine was close but wasn't what I would call a dependable crawler. I think in the future I will use a emaxx just in the back yard and I still have one I use that way. Good luck with the build if you decide to go that way, Jerry"thumbsup"

Hi Skinner and a 12 tooth pinion was all I could find today so you found a lower one than I did. The sides are a palstic type material, seems plenty strong though and pleased with the way it turned out. Merry Christmas up your way and talk at you later, Jerry"thumbsup"

well after reading the article on dez's and unholy dig set up i started searching through my cabnets and found a little switch so i decided to try and see if i could wire up a dig set up. got it all wired up and it works but its backwards i have to have the servo hitting the switch to have four wheel drive and off to have front wheel drive i may have to go buy a diferant switch. any way here are a couple pics. merry christmas every body. gary:lol:

I doubt if swapping the wires will work, the switch will still function the same. You have a momentary on, you would need a momentary off switch. Either way it will work. Wonder who the luck devil is to get the last chassis ;)

Gary isn't that my Bronco Body? And one more thing would it be possible to realign the links so there just a little bit out of alignment so it might cause the truck to be a little harder to control as I think the truck he has now is strong enough and he really doesn't need a Truck that is going to be that strong. Jerry:lol:

Got to love christmas eve, early money!! That's killer gary, so whenever you're ready to meet let me know and I'll have the dough for the truck.

Jerry, it will be for my 2.2 clod that I'm building.

Merry Christmas guys

I have to go back to work on mine as I think I gain a little gain on you guys and then my bubble breaks and you run away again. I made some excellent mods on my tlt today so will go back to work on the super. It is going to be a good truck. Now I just need to find a good driver for the trucks and I will do alright. Like to wish everyone and there families a very Merry Christmas and watch the calories. Jerry"thumbsup"

Can any one tell me what the name of the chassis is on my link it's the first pic of my clod i dont no the name of it?"thumbsup"

Shocks

Has anyone done anythng with there shocks either different shock oil or different springs ot different shocks? Would like to know what changes and the why. Thanks, Jerry
"thumbsup"

Erik (you know, the other kid with the blond hair sitting around during the first comp) and I are building an SW2 wannabe scaler with a bushwacker body. Any tips on building an SW2? Jerry? Bam Bam?

I think you're building clods for the 2.2 where I used the tlt but not happy with the steering on the tlt and think the clod will have better steering. The 2.2 moabs I'm happy with and would be a lot happier if we could run 4ws on the 2.2 crawlers but maby someday. good luck with the build and 2.2 has as much potential as the super class I feel. Jerry"thumbsup"

hey jerry, i run my shocks upside down it is supposed to lower your cg. because you move the weight of the oil from the top to the bottom, i also went with the trinity blue springs to make up for the weight of the bigger tires, hope this helps with what you are looking for. have a nice day gary.;-)

Morning Gary and hope you and the family had a very nice holiday.
I run the shocks on the tlt turned over or upside down but there aluminum and on the clod the tmaxx shocks won't work upside down as I have changed the lower links and the cap hits. So already looking for another set of aluminum shocks and thanks for the info on the blue trinity springs. My clod is very close to being able to go all the way up the stairs by itself now and until I get the shocks I need I will pu"thumbsup" t a little weight on the front axel or in the tires as that would probably be better I think. At 16.5 inch wheelbase now and that seems to be a sweet spot for my truck. Take care and wishing you and family a very happy new year, Jerry
