Losi Steering mod design

I had the same on mine and remembered my original LCC ..... Put a soft bend about an inch or so from the front axle.

Thanks for the info Bob, that worked like a charm!"thumbsup"
It bottoms out right at full compression. I will do some photos later. I have been working on a couple bodies, one is kind of stepping out of the box a little.

No rush on mine Ernie, I'm offshore for the next month.

Hey suij are you ready for your axle, it will be finish up today. Think if we get it in the mail this week, it might be waiting for you come back to shore."thumbsup"

I painted up a couple body options this last weekend, and built some links to get my steering tuck up under the servo plate.

I have always kind of been a bug guy when it comes to crawler bodies.

A little change up to the link to get it up and out of the way.

Now you see it now you don't.

So I like to step out of the box a little and I know this isn't going to be the best body for recovery but................. I think it's cool.

I still need to build some body mounts and get them attached.

"thumbsup"

Great job on the axles, I like the T-bucket body best! 8)
I do to, it isn't a traditional crawling body, but I dooooooooo like stepping out of the box a little. And I do have a comp body with the bug."thumbsup"

Nice job, Ernie.
Thanks EeePee, I'm thinking it may be time for you to dust off the losi a little and join the fun!!!!"thumbsup"

Looks great.

Thanks Doug, this is turning out to be a lot of fun.8)8)8)

CODYBOY! I've just found your thread here - randomly! - W whilst looking online for something not even RC related. LOVE your work here, they look incredible!

Quick story: I've got a scale build on MRC running gear that I've been putting together and chopping and changing over the last 6 or 7 years. Last weekend I entered my first comp ever. 3 stages and I was DNF for two of them due to drive line failures. I've been ready to abandon the MRC platform, as much as I like it's dimensions, as I keep stripping pinion gears in the diffs!

I can't wait to read right through this thread but first, I wanted to post here to share my delight in finding your hard work here, and my hopeful anticipation of getting my hands on a set. Have you beefed up the diffs? I'll hopefully find my answer as I trawl through all the pages here.

I guess I'll be in touch again soon! Kudos on your efforts :)

Edit. And they're not for the MRC. So disappointed! Thought I'd found the answer to my comp troubles, having read the entire thread and being full of admiration for the workmanship and hours of labour that clearly went into it. Until I saw the photo with the ruler and realised this is about 190mm wide, while my MRC axles are about 150mm. I sadly close my wallet and continue the search for durable MRC axles for my scaler. Love your work here, codyboy. Can't believe there hasn't been a stampede of Losi Comp Crawler owners to buy as many as you can make! Well done.

I am not sure if we talked about it or not but I have gobs and gobs and gobs of XR inner shafts. All you would need is for somebody to find a stock Axial stub shaft or if they ran my knuckles you could toss 8mm stub shafts on them. Heck, they could even run my VP Wraith knuckles that I modify for 8mm stub shafts and be good to go. So, there are a couple of options. I would hate to see your good work just sit. I am guessing we wont see parts from Axial until June or so. 4 months is a long time in my world. LOL.

Thanks Erik, good info to have. I bought what I could find on ebay, but not at your great price!"thumbsup"

Very nice, you will like it. I run the 3300kv stubby. I like the stubby since its smaller in length and lighter as well. But still packs the power. "thumbsup"

I think I'm going to move forward and build some more kits for release. I think I've fixed all the things that the testers found that needed improvements.
The kits include a machined axle casing, a set of brass trumpets/weights, and the machined XR10 universals. The trumpets will be pre-attached to the link/shock mount side of the axle casing with screws and adhesive to add strength to the axle. The C-hub mount end of the trumpet will be drill 3mm off center for axle clocking unless other wise requested.
With the material and machining cost the kits will be comparable in cost to other offerings you have seen the last few years.
I will be offering XR and scale width axles.

XR kit.

Scale kit.

The scale kits are designed for SCXii C-hubs and knuckles (the SSD parts will allow you to add their brake weights to them an be scale legal). I had a limited number of brass machine to do these (as many as my budget would allow), and when these are gone there won't be any more.
I will have 5 kits ready to go by next week and 3 of those may be spoken for."thumbsup"
I'm not taking orders, (to much pressure) so I will build these 5 kits at a time and post up when they are ready and they will go out in order of PMs in my box.
;-)
