Ittybitty's BERG

I've been working with some different tire setups to find something that works better for me and have settled on a set of heavily siped and narrowed sedonas up front running stock sedona foams on 1" SLW's and a set of narrowed white dot blocks on sedona sidewalls running soft inner, soft outer and medium outer tuning ring. So far I'm a lot happier with this setup than I was with the normal size block tires...they were just too wide for my tastes and I know they work better on 1.25" wheels and I just don't like running that wide of a wheel.

In preparation for the Turkey Crawl I decided to do some maintenance and some upgrades or changes. First off I changed my steering setup to use a hex bar and stubby drag link rather than the 140mm Lunsford Ti link I was using which required me to run the tie rod in the front holes on the knuckle arms and the drag link to the rear hole on one side. This new setup provides more ground clearance at the front and only weighs a few grams more.

I also installed a few new bearings while I was in the cases to install my Gunnar pins in the Mann 2nd and 3rd gears. Gunnar warned me that the Mann gears tended to be a tigther fit and that they would require the pins to be lightly tapped in...he was right but it was still very straight forward...no hammer necessary. I've been VERY happy with these pins...they fit perfectly and take up the entire slot. I also have his pins installed in my hexes...once again excellent fit and finish! Thanks Gunnar!

In! Thanks for the chance
 :ror:

I changed my knuckle bushings to d_lux style...does that count as maintenance?

Yeah that definitely counts...the d_lux bushings are a great improvement over whatever you had! "thumbsup"

You my friend are awesome with tires, its an art that takes time and patience! Great job Ryan!

Thank you! Gotta keep myself busy or I get into troube

Thanks to limited77 for putting together another great video for me...

So here I was sitting minding my own business when a pair of VP Wraith Ti Lower Links fell in front of me...you could imagine my surprise. It turns out they are a direct replacement for the front lower links for my SS chassis. I didn't necessarily need to replace my delrin links, but these are just better...just because. They offer just about as much clearance as the links included with the chassis, but they won't be flexing at all.

I started by simply laying the sidewalls into the bead of the truggy tire...but I've changed to cutting the bead off of the truggy tires completely and then gluing in the sidewalls...frees up the sidewall a lot more "thumbsup"
