Ittybitty's BERG

Beautiful Motor stickers :P

Great looking rig Ryan. Motor stickers are kick A@@!!

Thanks guys! I'm beyond happy that I finally had the opportunity to build a rig as I gathered the right parts. Before it was always a huge rush to put together a rig all at once. Since I had the XR I was able to gather parts for this rig slowly and all I can say is that it paid off!

Hmm...what makes you say that? I'm guessing it's from seeing the front unload on me in that second video?

Well I should be picking up some more Mini-T springs in the next couple weeks so I'll throw some green springs on the rear and give them a whirl. I'm thinking that the biggest problem the last time I had them on the rear was that I was running the silver's up front...they didn't do anything I liked. I just remembered I have some silver MRC springs that feel like they're somewhere in between the green and blue Mini-T's so I'll give them a shot tomorrow and see what happens.

In the attempt to get a little more run time and a tad more punch while avoiding paying $15+ for a lipo I decided to try 2 new packs out. I only got one the two types of packs in today. These are the GForce 500mah 3S 30C packs...so they're rated 50mah higher and at a discharge rate of 30C instead of 25C. They cost $7.99 each and you have to add a Deans plug. I'm curious to see if I gain any run time or if I actually lose some with these.

Size comparison between the two...the GForce is actually a little smaller overall.

Something I do like about these GForce packs is that the balance tap exits the shrink wrap on the same side as the power leads.

Nice find Ryan! Now if they have the punch like that of the GenAce packs, that would be great!"thumbsup"

The other packs I have on the way will probably be the best option of the three types that I'll have, but I'll just have to wait til they get here!

After harvo pointed out what I was fighting in the video the other day with my suspension unloading on that climb I spent some time with some different spring combos this week before meeting with limited77 for some practice at the zoo. I settled on running the Losi Mini-T silver springs up front and Losi MRC silver springs out back. It really seems to settle in a lot easier now and stay planted on climbs similar to the one in the video. I wish I had another set of the MRC silver springs so I could try them up front too. I just seem to think that the Mini-T silver springs are too soft. Until I try something just a little firmer I won't know and since I like the MRC springs in the rear and they're just ever so slightly stiffer than the Losi Mini-T green springs I'll have to get some more of the MRC style to try. I might throw the green springs back on the rear and the MRC silver's up front and see what that does.

Wow that took a lot longer to say than I planned...

I bought 5 of those GForce 500mah 3S 30C packs last fall. Couldn't beat em for the price. I ran them a few times and could tell a difference. They didn't offer as much punch as some other packs. I quickly sent them down to the "practice pack" level. They do swell a little bit with some fast wheel speed runs.
I just recently bought the GensAce's 450's. They seem on par with the GForce's. Jury is still out on em. Can't beat the old TP 850's but they are "pigs" compared to the two previous packs mentioned.

I'm liking the looks of your narrowed up sedona's.

Good to hear...these are the other packs I have coming...

Dimensions listed on websites:

Gens Ace 450 - 58.3*30.3*15.5mm 53g
GForce 500 - 57*32*16mm 47g
Buffalo 750 - 68*35*15mm 69g

Wow those specs seem great for the size. I went for the GEN ace 450s and got like 10-15 min with HH 35t motors. I like them some far and also I'm running mini deans.

I always run softer springs on the rear because the rear unloading tends to flip a truck more often than the front.

On my Berg, I have the green miniT springs in front and some springs that are about like the silver MiniT in the rear now. (only longer).

I've ran the Gforce 800 3s for over a year now and they dont a ton of punch andthey do swell a little. The price isnt bad either. I've got a few of the GenAce 450s on the way and will be switching the Gforce out for practice

It was time to put some new outer bearings in the knuckles recently when I remembered that Boca was the only company that carries the 6x11x4 bearing that is required for the Super 300s. At nearly $4 a piece that wasn't making me happy. I'd rather replace several $1 bearings since I like to work on my rigs anyway. I've had great luck with Avid bearings in everything that I've owned so that's what I prefer to run for the cost as well. Last week I sent the 8* knuckles out to be modified to accept a 12mm bearing which will allow me to order them from Avid and they should last a bit longer as well.

Thanks Doug! "thumbsup"

The Buffalo packs DO fit on the T1E Rockshow SS battery tray/skid area.

Nice lookin' Berg, itty. Have you looked at the G-Force 800mah packs? I had enough physical room in my rig to run them and the weights were close enough that I could run longer practice runs (or 2 courses).

BTW, when you gonna change that XR avatar?
