Ittybitty's BERG

Nice lookin' Berg, itty. Have you looked at the G-Force 800mah packs? I had enough physical room in my rig to run them and the weights were close enough that I could run longer practice runs (or 2 courses).

BTW, when you gonna change that XR avatar?

Yeah I tried the GForce 800 packs about a year ago (seen here) then found the Sky Lipo packs that are the same size, but are rated at 40C continuous. They were a great improvement over the GForce packs and at a similar price point.

I have stepped back from the 800 packs due to their thickness...just a pain to get in and out of my chassis...compared to these 450, 500, and now 750 packs!

I'll see what I can come up with for the avatar!

So with these axle tubes, have you or anyone you know of clocked back the c hubs anymore? I tried it and I'm not happy. It's just hard to tell what the front is going to do. It changes the dynamics of how it drives. Just curious if you have had any experience with it.

Yeah I did. If you don't the gear box drags over EVERYTHING. After I clocked mine and then lengthened the upper links the castor is right around 15 degrees if I remember correctly. I have noticed that it doesnt seem to turn as sharply, but other than that I'm liking how its working. It really seems to work well when digging off camber which is becoming a lot more common with our course setups including boundaries. With the way mine is working right now I'm not changing anything. I do swap back and forth between my narrowed sedonas and the block tires. I've actually gotten where I like the narrowed sedonas quite a bit.

If I remember right Ryan clocked his axle up and then clocked the C's back more. I'm running flat with my axles with the chubs at the the 20* clock. I'm liking it that way so far.

Damn Ryan you beat me to it. You got me liking pins again

I settled on the original CCD holes. My gearbox is clocked up some and I still have some caster. Can you post a pick from dead front with the wheels full lock in one direction please?

Thanks!

Thanks for the build thread Ryan. I have finished mine and used some of your info here. After giving you crap for using blue spings in back... I am using them 8). Clocking back the motor changes the shock mount position and lays the shocks down more. I kept bumping up spring rates to compensate until I got to the blues and they seemed right.

Video from yesterday's practice gtg...

In that video I'm running my narrowed sedonas...after this weekend I decided to make some modifications to them and also build some different tires for the rear  I definitely like the performance of the narrowed sedonas, and the fact that my rig is quite a bit narrower than when I run my HB Block tires. I'll be putting these good points together into one package. Stay tuned...I'm busy gluing!

You definitley have that rig dialed in man. I am interested to see what comes out of the lab tonight..."thumbsup"

Thanks guys...sorry it took so long...I had to pull a few of my fingers apart after working on these...

Since East Coast RC has quite a few of these in stock I couldn't help but see what I could do with them...

Narrowed white dot blocks with sedona sidewalls...all butt glued seams...gotta tear them down again tomorrow and take them out to the shop to sand the ribs down and then see if they need a pattern cut...

I bought these a while back from D Lux for the sidewalls...but decided to narrow them up and save myself a bunch of work on the narrowed sedonas I made...these were already heavily siped...
IMAG0848.jpg

They're a little taller than the sedonas...they measure in at 5 3/38" or close to it and the sedonas measure in at just under 5 1/4" with the rig sitting on them.

Are you going to run that combination?

I saw some well built blocks at our comp yesterday. The driver pattern cut the front ones and left the rear ones fully pinned. They worked well.

It seems like they had better stability on side hills and in full lock turns, but didn't quite have the traction of the Khaos (on the ocoee rocks). I think they definitely have their place.

Great video. Looking good.

I'm definitely going to try this combo. I've been playing with the narrow sedonas since I saw Eriks set. I like them a lot...A LOT, but I really like pin tires on the rear to smooth things out. I believe Michael and I will be going back to the zoo this coming weekend to test out his new chassis and I'll get to try a few different tire setups to see what I want to run at Turkey Crawl. At this point I have a full set of Pink Dot Blocks, a full set of Red Dot Blocks, and now this pair of narrow White Dots.

I've just been looking for a little more forward bite...but I do really like the Red Dot Blocks. I run the fronts on 1" SLW's and the rears on 1.35" SLW's and all of them with medium/medium Nova foams.

That looks a ton better. I hope they work as good as they appear."thumbsup"
