Ittybitty's BERG

The "Crawler Carrier" is definatly going to have a forward bias for a little while anyway"thumbsup" Congrats

No sir...I've been running the blue MRC springs on all 4 corners and really like them the best so far.

Yep blue MRC springs...they're the MEDIUM springs for the MRC...they go silver, blue, black if I'm not mistaken.

So did you comp with the Khaos tires?

How do those blue springs compare to the mini t rates?

I'm like the silver mrc springs on the rear of my Berg. Do you run them topped out out do you set them up with any sag?

Nope..went back to the same red dot Blocks that I ran at the last ETRC comp. They've been working really well for me...very happy with my foam setup with the new closed cell inners "thumbsup"

The silver springs let your rig do some funky stuff. By running a slightly firmer spring you reduce those tendencies for your rig to lift a front tire when it gets bound up...I noticed both yours and Pdogs rigs doing this at the last comp...I really think ya'll might like a slightly firmer spring setup all the way around...or it could be something different all together. I tried the softer springs and couldn't keep my rig from being overly unpredictable. I'm also running 40wt oil on all four corners to slow things down just a bit. I can't really give a great answer on your sag or topped out quesion, but I don't do anything but adjust the preload collars to where the springs just begin to have some preload...then I leave them alone.

That's what I meant. So are the blue mrc springs firmer or not as firm as the blue mini t?

I know the funky stuff you speak of. It's a compromise of soft enough to lay up well, but firm enough to resist the twist.

The berg is worse about it than the xr.

I always thought the MRC blues (which are darker than mini t blues) were firmer than mini t blues, and the blacks were the firmest of all the losi mini springs. But I've been wrong before. (goes to squeeze springs)

I believe they are firmer than the Mini-t blues, but I still would like to see some real numbers on them...although it wouldn't cause me to change anything since what I'm running is working for me.

In my screwed up way of testing springs I believe the MRC Blues are just a touch softer than the Mini-T Blues. What I do is use my digital scale set to measure OZ and push down on the spring to just before it is fully compressed...just before in order to keep from just applying direct pressure to the scale. When I do this with the MRC Blue springs I measure 43 oz, and when I do it with the Mini-t Blue springs I measure 46 oz. Just for curiosity I did the same thing with a Mini-T Silver spring and read 22 oz.

Take that information for what it is...

Dr. Crawl answers again. I Think my Vendetta spring are in between .

Some new products showed up at East Coast RC today! I'll be installing these new Ti Hulk Axles and 12mm Bearing Adapters tonight along with some new Fast Eddy bearings. These parts are very well made and I'm definitely looking forward to eliminating those 11mm bearings on the CCD tubes "thumbsup"

I've got my shafts and adapters installed. The original total weight of my rear axle including a BWD Motor Sav'r, 540 motor, drilled gears, RCBros lockers, Mann 2nd and 3rd gears, DLux gear cover, DLux Upper Link Mount, RC Axlemaster rear shafts, shaved case, and CCD tubes was 430g. After removing the bearing pocket from the CCD tubes and installing the new HULK AXLES along with the 12mm bearing adapaters my new total weight is 397g "thumbsup"

Bearing pocket removed...

Awesome! I have been waiting in these.... Will they work in stock tubes?

Hmm...I don't believe so...at least not without some work to install the lockouts on the ends. We could install a set and see how much would need to be removed. Basically you would need to do the same type of work required to put Axial C-hubs on the front axle...just turn the tube down.
