House’s 2022 Sporty

After measuring and contemplating, I found out that the issue was the hubs not the axles, and even though it makes more sense to modify the static part I drilled out the hubs instead. Easier, quicker, and the actual problematic part, but it could be an issue later if I end up swapping hubs… Oh well, done now.
Since the shafts actually measured 8mm (.315) I ran an O drill (.316) through them and they fit nice now. Surprised to see they were almost .003” small, no wonder they didn’t want to fit!

Hi Kevin! I wonder if it was an issue with a single lot from a supplier or if all the new ones are that way?

I am liking the new beefy 3mm pins. I didn’t see a lot of 2.5mm pins break on their own, but I know they could be bent from tightening the set screw down too tight, and if not tight enough they come loose, slide out, bind up and break…
I still like to use blue loctite on the set screws to help keep them in. I usually run solid face wheels so it is not convenient to keep tightening them…

Finally got it out for a quick shakedown run. No issues so far, seems pretty solid. "thumbsup"

This body’s cab is too tall for that, maybe with one of the newer styles or 1/18 scale but I cannot stand the disproportional looks of that. I know, function before fashion, but I just can’t do it… :ror:

I’ll have to take a few bodiless pics to show the final result as well.

Here are some naked pics for your viewing pleasure…

The image size limit is 1200 x 600 so it could be that but I dont use RCC to host so I'm not sure whats going on.

EDIT: It looks like it shrunk them down to 640 x 480. You could use a Image hosting site like Imgur then resize the pics to 1200 x 600

Anyway looks great!

What was the final weight?

Just a hair over 3.5 lbs.
That is RTR with tungsten loaded knuckles but no loaded dice hangers on it.
I will most likely run it with them, but that will still be sub 4lbs IIRC.

Think I may give these Team Brood Kyosho Velvet shocks a try, but I might put the Dlux spring retainers on them to reduce some of the spring preload…
