I don't fawk around.

So typical rc4wd they half ass engineer something and then come up with a fix it kit that's screwed up too.

The ax2 is back together with the upgraded output shaft and the kit comes with 2 shims to center the shaft. If you use both it locks the shaft up. If you leave one out it allows movement and bearing failure. Luckily I keep shims on hand so it's fixed properly.

Also found a use for an HR sway bar link.

HD shaft in the ax2 is holding up fine but its time to stop fawking around.

Haven't picked up the locked up slipper eliminator yet but its together for mock up anyway.

There is a Holmes 3500 XL on it's way too. We shall see how this holds up.

I think it'll be good. My only reservation is the case of the trans itself. With as much power as I'm going to shove down it's throat (Holmes 3500 xl on 4s) it may become a weak point.

There has been chatter about a possible 7075 billit case if it becomes a problem.

What's the story/who makes that transmission...or, is that just a mount to move the motor frontside of an existing AX/SCX/Wraith transmission?

That line just to the left of the glare is a split. There is another one that is in the glare above the adjuster collar. I filled the shock slightly too much and compressed it only to watch oil run down the side. I was confused for a split second and then I had to laugh. Rc3wd quality strikes again!

That's not a split if I am seeing it correctly, that's the seam from the extrusion process.

For example: https://szztly.en.made-in-china.com...1-Extruded-Aluminium-Aluminum-Round-Tube.html

There are seamless extrusions available but more expensive.

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see something dig-compatible, also. Will stock links work?

Stock lowers will be fine but the uppers will not. It looks like the rear uppers will work on the front and the rear need to be at least 3/4" longer than stock. 1/2" to compensate for the link location and 1/4" to turn the pinion up where it belongs.

If you want dig he offers a setup that uses a regular trans. I'll be installing one in a buddies bomber this weekend.

Well here goes... something?

Dropped it in and took it for a spin on 4s. Oh my.

Also found another weak spot. And of course the center case is not available.

This was my replacement 1283sg after I had to send my 3brothers G13 in for warranty gears. Already dropped a savox 2290 in it, time to stop fawking around.

Oh Oh More pissed off fanbois now!

Indeed. The press release or whatever for the G13 says it has all steel gears. The the guy that represents (owns?) 3brothers said it has a mixture of steel and hard anodized aluminum gears but nobody has broken a steel gear yet, everyone takes out the aluminum output gear. I got bad news for him, I wiped out 2 small steel gears. :ror:

3500xl in 4’s!! Can you do backflips from a stand still with that thing now?

If I get traction it will. I feather it for the first 20' or so then I can lean into it and wheelie.

I don't do speed runs with it, i just need wheel speed for attitude adjustments while airborne.

I chuckled when you wanted the 2300 for your exo, i ran a 4250 kv 4 pole 550 on 3s in mine. :lmao:

I might try my slate 2850 on 4’s in it but the biggest issue I’ve had with that much horse power is keeping the gear mesh with that stupid design of a motor mount.

2850 will scoot on 4s. I ran the 2300 once and decided I needed more motor or more battery. I probably smartly decided on more motor.

When everyone was swapping to VP mounts I left the stocker, I actually liked the design. My issue was keeping plastic spur gears alive. The motor would simply over power the plastic and spit teeth. I keep thinking I need to get another exo and build it what I now consider to be right. Its be so stupid.

Lets be seeing some run video so we can meet the fawkers. Top speed is ________? How are you dealing with torque twist. This thing should be worse than a Yeti XL.

I have no idea what the top speed of this thing is. I figure it's in the 30mph range. It gets real sketchy towards the top end on such tall rubber.

Torque twist? It isn't bad, sure it has some but I have tweaked with the shocks a good bit and I run HR sway bars on both ends. Both on their softest setting.

So my new axle shafts showed up today. I thought they were for an offset housing but they are for a centered wraith width. Damnit.

Beefy!

Luckily I had this housing sitting here looking pretty. It's all together and ready for a little trail run with some locals.

Even less fawking around going on these days.

High altitude performance skid & trans combo is installed. I dig it so far but we shall see how its durability goes.

That rc3wd rear housing is going to see dlux for some monster pinion bearings and fat bastard 7075 rear shafts and I'm picking up a V2 ocp housing from VP to use in the front with his #BAMFA shafts. This round should hold off the destruction for a little while longer.
