(HH) Tech Questions and Customer support thread

Hi John, I ordered a hyperion AC/DC E0S0606iAD-B charger from you on 4/17/09. Now when I plug it up to either AC or DC it will come on but, it won't go to the battery selection screen. It just stays on the screen where it displays the model #. The owners manual states that it has a 1 year warranty and that the dealer is the first point of contact. So I tried to contact you on your site but still no reply. Just wondering what I should do. Thanks in advance.

BEC and 3Racing winch

Just got the CC bec from you to power my 3Racing winch.Problem is that the thread in the electronics section had me all confused. From what I can figure out is that the bec is wired to my FXR batt terminals. The other end is wired to the winch controller battery connector except that I won't use the white/signal wire.Is this correct? Also will I have do disable the red wire from the esc,I don't think I need to but just want to make sure.

Certainly a warranty on it. Send it on back, would you like a replacement or refund?

I'm just checking to see if you got the bad LBA-10 yet? I mailed it out on June 8th.

Your replacement is in the mail.

That sounds correct to me, although I am not sure how you have everything hooked up. If you only power the winch with the BEC, you will still need to power your radio and servo with something.

Everything is hooked up normally.Although I have a dig servo and a winch on a switch that is plugged into the 3rd channel on the rx'r.I either select the dig or the winch.I just got the BEC to power the winch only so it just gets wired fron the BEC to the power connector on the winch controller.
Since I am just using the BEC to power the winch I can assume that I don't need to remove the red wire coming from the esc.
Thanks for the help.

That is correct. The ESC's internal BEC will take care of the RX and servo duties. Your winch will have sole power from the BEC. Two dedicated low voltage sources.

*As posted (DOWN UNDER ROCK FORCE)

Hi John, I have been checking out your web site often trying to get two HH-Crawlmaster-3014-1000kv motors. For a (MOA) Rock Force project but you never seem to have any stock. And can you tell me if anyone has ever tried Y harnessing two out runners before. As I have a spare V3 Castle Creations Mamba Monster Max ESC. (Or will it all end it tears) :)

You can't use a single bushless ESC with two brushless motors...

Caveat: unless you are using 2 motors connected to a single spur - even then it is really likely to end in tears as you have to align the phases very carefully

Right, you will need two ESCs.

I don't have any crawlmasters or Revolvers in stock because I am re-engineering them. I have a replacment for them both that will offer more power, better low speed control on sensorless commutation, and sensored operation as well. Prototypes are almost done.

John,

the replacement LBA-10 showed up today, thanks for the great customer service. I was pleasantly suprised to find out that none of the LiPos were badly out of balance from 2 weeks of straight charging.

hey John,

I was looking at getting a puller motor for my ax-10, weight 6.5 lbs, I currently have a novak 55 combo, I'm looking for more wheel speed, torque. Must I purchase a new esc or may I use my current esc. I am using 1500 mah 2s lipos
Thanks for any and all suggestions!!"thumbsup"

ESC/Motor combo

I see in other posts, you recommend your Cobalt Puller 5T, Mamba Max and CC BEC for maximum 2.2 comp power.
I am fairley new to rock crawling and electronics, have many years with nitro RC's. When will you have these items in stock and being a electronics newbie, how difficult to hook up, and what is the BEC for and do????
Thanks....
Norris

A BEC supplies voltage to the RX and/or Servo - The internal bec on a MM is called a linear regulator - As the voltage / current increases they waste a lot of energy (ie. create heat) to step down to the required voltage.

The CC BEC is a switching bec which is more effecient and helps take the load off of the ESC.

Your novak ESC will do just fine with the 10t or even the 7t puller.

The 5t armatures are no longer available. I will have 7t armatures again shortly when my machinist gets done moving his house.

Art1k explained it well. I would recommend a BEC for any comp crawler. Hooking stuff up isn't too hard really.
