Harley's LS Hero Rock Bouncer

I'm coming up with a .2 HP per lb. That eguats to 2hp at 10lbs. Just by guessing I think this will easily surpass 10 lbs. . So were looking at 1400 plus watts to be in the scale neighborhood

Scale seems unclear in thus neighborhood. Or maybe imnunclear of scale. I do know a slow kV motor with 300watts or less won't make much of a rock bouncer

I'm glad to see you're going with a simple brushed setup. Not everything needs to be brushless and have stupid, uncontrollable power. Whatever John cooks up at HH will be perfect for the buggy and have that 1:1 realism. I'll be following closely at this one. Keep it u, Josh! "thumbsup"

Oh and Colby, great job on the chassis, dude!

A slow crawling 1:1 rig doesn't need much power 30-60hp.
This build is not that.

I just crunched the numbers for 350hp and come up with 1047 watts. I'm also guestimateing at z 2500 lb rig.

The cross fire mill may only put our 200 to 250 horse so wattage may be reduced more

There is no way in hell that the 1:1 only weighs 2500lbs. You can't build a Toyota that only weighs 2500lbs. I think double that would still be light. A set of one ton axles alone weigh 1000lbs.

What does the horse power of a cross fire have to do with anything?

Guess the crossfire doesn't matter and weight doesnt matter.

Was just trying to think lower power more realistic numbers since Harley seems not wanting to put many ponies under the hood. Which is cool since its his build it how he wants not how you or I want

Primer is drying.

Looks awesome! Did you get a weight on it yet or did I miss that?

I forgot the weight, but I'll try and remember tonight. My guess right now is going to be a little over 2lbs.

Damn Josh you prettied that son of a gun up!! I love it! Keep the pics rolling!

Yeah it is looking really good, I spent a solid 3+ hours sanding everything last night.

And it shows! It looks 100% cleaner that when you got it. The layout was awesome before. Now the execution matches the layout.

x2! I do not claim to be a pro or an expert builder. I build for fun and Harley wanted one of my frames to do exactly what he is doing, making it 20x better. If I felt like I was an expert builder I would have a vendors star and offering it to everyone but I don't. Makes me grin ear to ear seeing this thing coming even more to life than the last day it sat on my bench "thumbsup"

Oh man this is sweet! Cage looks mint. Did I hear you are going to be making a centre diff vanquish rock jock for the rear? if this is true will you mod a wraith housing or extend a scx10 housing?

I'm not sure on the method I'll take yet. I might just contact Carter Fab for some new rear tubes. Only concern is matching the annodizing color, unless I get some silver version.

looks bigger than i had pictured.
still cool

you should ship it off to one of the forums styrene masters and have them whip up a LS manifold and TB for it.

It needs to be that big to be the proper scale.

I think I have a better plan for the manifold and intake, just have to do a little searching first. Plus it would be even more custom

Plan is to have the top end 3D printed. I just haven't found a model of the fuel rail covers yet. It's been a pain in the ass. Once I find all the parts I'll merge them into a single part to be printed for simplicity.
