Super jelly of the 6 day approval! My shortest F4 was 5 months which oddly was for the machine gun. My first can was 13 months.
The little guy in the background behind the reweld I was working on.
Reweld in the photo is a Czech UK-59.
No pics of current work but working on a Yugo M53 which is a Yugo copy of the German MG42. Very very excited to get that running. The FCG is usable but not pretty. Got a 7.62x51 barrel headspaced on Saturday and hopefully cut the charging handle grooves into the receiver tonight. The holes for the bolt and carrier rails are in the wrong spot so I have to weld those up and drill new ones. That's gonna suck.
The to do list on the 42:
Cut charging handle grooves
Cut on bolt carrier and weld charging catch
Modify charging handle
Weld existing rail rivet holes and drill new holes
Align and weld receiver back together
Align and weld barrel bushing into receiver
Rivet rails
Rivet trunnion
Rivet barrel door
Rivet stock catchs
Rivet rear tripod mount
Rivet front tripod/AA mount catch
Rivet rear sight
Test fire and hope no major timing required
Make it look pretty.

Hey, cool hardware ! Are you a gunsmith by trade?
Not a gunsmith by trade. Its more of a hobby. Mechanical and Electrical engineer and machinist by trade. Im a poor excuse for an EE though. mostly forced into fumbling my way into working PCBs.
Im slowly putting together a machine shop in the garage while looking for a place with a shop.
My little Hardinge HLV Super Precision. Very early machine with a SN of 0027. Likely 1947 build date. It really is an amazing little machine.
1980 Bridgeport Series 1 Heavy Duty Tracer Mill. It is a monster. Only have a single head at the moment and still need to learn the tracer but its the smoothest and most powerful X and Y power feeds youll find. They are powered by a 3HP hydraulic motor.

Semi auto FCG for a DPM I designed and machined from D2. Its even got adjustable takeup!
Original DMP bolt with new semi auto guts I designed and machined
VZ58 rear receiver support for pressing in barrels
The VZ58 after building and my first attempt at battleworn paint
Tabs I make and send around the country to convert crappy Sten mags to work in a Suomi application. Squish a Sten mag 0.020 front to back and silver solder one of these to the back. Popular in the Mac SMG world with the Lage Max31 uppers. The Max31 is single feed and uses Suomi drums and coffins but a good single feed stick mag is no longer made.
Threaded pins for the UK59 to replace a cross bolt due to where the SA striker op-rod needs to go

Microtech Amphibian Ram-Lok Apocalyptic blade finish Factory Second - I inspected the knife from one end to the other and see NO blemishes.
MTK uses an etched grenade logo on the side of the blade to indicate whenn it's a factory 2nd - kinda cool, IMHO.
Saved a BUNCH of cash, bought direct from their site - blade steel is M390MK, their formula of Bohler M390.
Manufacturing date etched on clip is 02/2025.

Boker Plus Tac-Master Bob Terzuola design in Nitro-V steel.
This is a big boy, same length overall as the Amphibian but more sharpened blade length - 9.25" overall, 3.9" blade.
I had some bonus points at the website where I got it, total price was a bargain for such a knife.

Forgot this one - found when looking through some old pics, was probably 6-8 years ago.
Stopped in a store/range I'd never been to and this was in the rental case - sign me up!

Shot a pistol match this past weekend. By stage 3 I couldn't hit shit. Plate rack was safe from me! Got home and started looking over the pistol to see if it's me that sucks or a mechanical issue. I still suck but I found a mechanical issue. The screw head on my MPS was barely holding on and fell off almost as soon as I touch it with a torx. Steiner told me to send it in with no questions asked. Said they have some updated parts and will extract the screw and send the new mounting hardware. Had a prepaid shipping label in my email within 30 seconds. Looking forward to putting it back on the pistol. Also found my front sight is all fubar and needs to be centered again too. Wonder what I ran into!
I also tacked a little project together so I can get started fitting things.

That's one weird looking bolt, and it appears that the bar in the middle may possibly be the firing pin as I don't see one otherwise. Not sure for what, but guessing something open bolt full-auto.
You are correct. Open bolt but semi auto. The wedge in the middle is the firing pin. Dang near folds a 22LR rim in half!
Marlin Model 50. Only open bolt 22 Marlin has made. 5000 were made between 1931 and 1934. Very very rare. Mags are worth about what a rifle it's self is worth. There are at least 2 variants as my 2 are very different and even use different mags.
Very neat little rifles! Shoot pretty good for an open bolt too!

Around the end of the open bolt semi era (early 80s) some places were making open bolt semis.
Looks like they only made ~45000 of them from 1958 to 1961! Quite rare!
