Gun and knife picture thread!

^^Nice collection Troy, always wanted one, but I'm too cheap.
Thanks mang..
As did I and as was I! Lol..

After all the money spent in this hobby, on a rig.. Buying a knife or 3, for the cost of a set of VP axles, wasn't so bad... ;)
I just don't have any of my rig's riding on Currie's.. Lol

LOL, same here. I'd love a set to complete my Wraith, but just can't bring myself to do it though. Besides, I can't quit buying bicycles long enough anyways.

It's rare that pre-bans pop up around here, so I scoop every one I can when I can. Massachusetts sucks on gun laws ... Pre-ban stuff is like gold.
Adopted this one today and gave it it's new forever home
Merry Christmas to me!!!

Finally got around to putting a few rounds down range with LAST years Christmas present about a week ago. Life got busy this year with little time to play. Didn't do any shooting but I did spend the year upgrading and accessorizing my inventory after hours.

Tavor with Geissele trigger, Manticore Arms ARClight XLT forend/light set-up/flash suppressor/buttpad, Mepro M21 reflex site which I took off of my KSG for shooting that day. Waiting on a Mepro MOR site to arrive in the next week or two. Still have to install a Manticore Arms safety selector I have then she's done.

Also into sharp things too. New and old. Past few years I've been into early American reproductions and originals, Daniel Winkler, John Cohea, White Wolf etc. Before, into fighters, folders, swords, basically anything sharp that's neat and/or unusual AND one off. Too many for one post but will start posting a few here and there.

A couple of Daniel Winkler blades:

Winkler did all the knife reproductions for the movie Last of the Mohicans. He did a few based on those for his customers.
Movie inspired pipe hawk. His hawks are extremely hard to find these days and garner a small fortune now. I have the matching knife but need to take a pic:

One of my White Wolfs:

Winter is here so time for the neck knives...easy to hide with thicker clothing on. My most recent neck knife purchase and current carry:
(only one of these made, paracord wrapped handle epoxied)

Microtech OTF:

Back with more later............

Newest additions.

First, I finally took a dip in the striker gun world. Great gun but still prefer my 1911's. Glock 17 Gen 4.

Followed by a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 9MM Glock Mag. What a blast to shoot.

Cheap Gun Show bag but hold them both fine.

A block G42 for the wife is next, then maybe a M1A for me.

Well thank you for reminding me of all the nice things i will never get for christmas or birthday :flipoff:
Thank god it is my annual get shitfaced day soon, will drown my sorrows in a bottle of single malt.

Love the Tavor so far Skills. My first Bullpup type weapon besides shooting a 12 guage bullpup. Different from an AR that's for sure. Bolt carrier group is right at your cheek instead of forward more so cycling the rounds has a slightly different feel, sound etc. Barely any recoil. Shoots pretty smooth. Easy to break down for cleaning. Mag changes are obviously different but after a few I found ejecting a magazine, changing and chambering the next round was a really quick/smooth movement with its own rhythm. Weapon has a really nice "Tight" feel to it, really good for CQB type situations. By tight I mean how it's held when engaging. You have a closer tighter hold on the gun decreasing you're overall upper profile (I see some people shoot AR's both elbows out like they want to take flight if they miss target lol). Would be great for military/swat (Obviously since the Israeli military uses them lol) type use when in and around buildings, shooting from cover, and exiting vehicles. I personally don't see myself adding a bipod to it like you could to an AR, different profile and made for engaging on the move than hanging back prone.

I compare an AR to a Jeep, tons and tons of accessories and configurations for each, every and even unnecessary scenarios. Almost limitless possibilities which like a Jeep makes it so popular along with most AR base pricing. You can configure it to your exact needs, even put a freakin bottle opener on it lol. The Tavor now has a lot more options available than a year or two ago but still no comparison but also really no need. What's out there currently is really all you need to pick through with how this gun is made to be used/shot. Stock trigger is just fine but I purchased mine used and the former owner had an aftermarket one that he just hadn't yet installed. That was a simple procedure, reeeeeal simple. There are a few accessory providers but I went with Manticore Arms. I really like their forends and how their lights were integrated internally in them, and I just went with them from there. Their Butt pad is a must over the larger stock pad. Sven of Manticore Arms is a pretty stand up guy from my experience with them, he was right there each order with emails and info. My Tavor is OD green but as with most equipment/clothing, OD can vary slightly in shade from manufacturer to manufacturer and Manticore's OD is slightly different (at the time of my forend purchase) than the stock gun OD. I just removed and repainted with a high heat flat black which I think looks a little better than the gun being mostly all green. I love mine and now hold it high in my personal gun line, can't wait to get out and shoot this thing again. I get a big grin thinking about it lol. Anyway the below You Tube link is one of the better explanation/demonstration videos out there. Hope it helps more than my rambling lol.

I have three different styles and like them quite a lot. I always recommend them to anyone and people are happy with them, too.

I usually care my 9mm with this knife but these 2 just look good together. [emoji3]

beachbum - If you haven't figured it out already.. Only use mags that drop free from the Tavor. Then learn to drop empty mags with your firing hand by sliding back off the grip enough to engage the mag release.. Then you can be doing that while you fetch a fresh mag with your other hand. practice all that for a while and you'll see that reloads are lightning quick on these things.. After like a week i was reloading faster than with AR's, and I've been shooting them for almost 15 years lol.

Yea, that's what I meant when I said it has its own rhythm to it. I also found its faster than an AR and you are able to keep eyes on target more completely than with an AR. I'm right handed (firing hand) so I drop the mag with my left on the way back to the mag pouch on my vest (if it doesn't gravity drop its one fluid motion to pull it out on the way through the release to the next mag), finger tip release mag pouch restraint, close hand, up, out and into magwell. While moving mag up into lock, thumb is extending out on the same hand back to engage bolt release. Broken down kinda sounds like a lot but it is actually a more fluid natural motion than with an AR, as well as a bit faster. You are holding the Tavor in a tighter/closer position which works well with the rear weight of the bullpup design. My firing side is more locked and prone to move less. Upper arm is locked tight to body, forearm pulling gun back into shoulder locked with complete hand locked on grip all working in conjunction with the rear weight while my cheek is still on the top/side of the stock. This give it a three direction pressure "lock" all at the heaviest section of the gun allowing me to change the mag while staying on target better. You hold both guns somewhat similar but with that bullpup design I found it worked better for me that way. Fumbling with getting a mag or diverting your gaze downward to make sure you get it right in the magwell where the only distractions that could take you momentarily off site. I tried with the firing hand but found with the position of the guns weight I was actually faster and more accurate this way.

Not to sound corny but you feel more in tune or "At One" with the gun going through the process than with the AR.

With the AR you have to, depending on the mag release set up you have and hand preference, either move your trigger finger out of position, toward safety position and press, or opposite hand on the way back "find" and push toward your trigger hand to release, move back toward mag pouch, pull out, forward and insert into magwell then hit release button either with hold/mag grab hand pushing toward trigger hand while moving back out into position or press opposite direction with trigger finger.

Summing up and clarifying, the Tavor motion only involves forward-back motion while the AR has a forward-back with a little left or right movement added which can cause a slight momentary loss of site alignment with target. Some with the AR just drop mag, drop gun downwards a bit loosing complete site alignment, while grabbing a mag, inserting then hitting on the release button then outward toward the rail or forward grip all while moving the gun back up into position or if release is on trigger finger side, press after opposite hold hand is set while moving gun back into position and then reacquiring target.

If you have the AR set up to release mag and release bolt both with the trigger finger it's fast but if you changed mag with opposite hand and are trying to press and release the bolt at the same time your opposite hold hand is moving outward back into a stabilizing position only four fingers completely grip and are holding the gun as opposed to a complete five finger closed (with trigger finger in safety position) grip with the Tavor. Works well with a forward grip added but if you hold your hand far out towards the very end of the AR around the forend that's a bit of distance holding and keeping it back against your shoulder to keep it in position and site on target which compared is actually a tad more uncomfortable and less "stable".

Lot of "Words" but those familiar with the AR platform and not the Tavor can get a slightly better idea from what I said, and those familiar with both definitely know what I'm jabbering about lol.

The video I linked shows it best when he goes through a mag change. I shot several magazine brands and didn't have one stick. I have a lot of Magpul magazines and they worked great but the metal Israeli mags worked the best. Smooth as silk and obviously heavier so they dropped fast.

Oh, and I had a 'few' beers before typing this....er..rambling lol. AND I've been assembling Christmas toys for the kids and wrapping now for three hours lol. Time to get off here, finish, grab another beer and a cup for the leftover screws lol.

The newest addition to my "Arsenal".

It's just another really scary AK varient!

Romainian Draco "pistol".

Going to convert it to a carbine until I can Form 1 it and go SBR.

I picked up a Blade Tech Klipt holster for my G26 to try out AIWB on the cheap and see if it's for me or not. So far I'm pretty happy with it, time will tell though.
