Food/Cooking

The main ingredients are pretty simple but seasoning and taste can vary pretty widely.

If you don't feel like putting in the work to make it from scratch this is what brunswick stew is "supposed" to taste like.

Mrs. Fearnow’s Brunswick Stew™ | Boone Brands

This is a staple in Mechanicsville and the surrounding areas. Heat it up in the microwave or the stove top and add a little salt & pepper, it doesn't get much better.

It's pretty close, except I left out the lima beans.

To my knowledge I've never had BS with anything other than pulled pork in it. Probably because the only places you generally see it down here is in BBQ joints. I love the stuff!

Are you a J.O. shill or what?

Thanks by the way.

Had to look up what a shill is.. Nope, not me. Just sharing some personal favorites. If a small, local family company gets more sales from more exposure, then it's a win-win. "thumbsup"

Ohio's best Bi-color corn and creole shrimp action that was dang good... Tomatoes and onion were grown in her backyard. Garlic in there too.

Smoked a pork butt earlier this week, and as usual had a bunch left. Even though I vacuum pack leftover, it just does not taste the same. So I bought a rotisserie chicken and shredded it up with the pork. Used this recipe for Brunswick Stew.

Your sideways stew looks great.
Tilt yo head.:lmao:
Must be some thick ass stew...
Don't see none spillin' out do ya?
Are we obligated to use the cock sawse as a condiment with our ass stew?
I didn't. Used Ranchers BBQ dry seasoning, has some hot chit in it.
All in all, it twernt bad. Be real good eating on a cold day. I'll freeze some up for later. "thumbsup"

LOL, As much as I love that stuff, I have no idea how you eat it in hot weather. Or maybe I'm just odd. I love chili, soup, stews, etc. But I don't like any of it unless it's cool / cold weather out. Does look damn tasty though!

Just finished up a small batch of Wild goose jerky the I had vacuumed packed (several breastisses) at the end of last season. Lil' spicy not sweet. Good brewsky drinkin' fodder for my friends this Friday. Opening day goose and dove season. "thumbsup"

Ahh, I foresee cream cheese, jalapeno, bacon wrapped, BBQ sauced dove breast cooked on the grill in my future. Great opening day dove season in Maryland.
9 guys, 140 birds. Weather was extremely beautiful. Temp never broke 70*.
For the last 20 years it's been 90+ and 99* humidity on this date.
