bilinvic's DMG IFS B1B Bomber Build

The Tekin Pro4 4000 kV motor is great in my Bomber, the low end crawling resolution is very good too. Eventually I will throw that motor back in my go-fast Pro2 Buggy and try out a HH PP. I have several ROC motors and they are absolutely incredible. The 3100 kV provides lots of power to get an insane amount of wheelspin when needed. I have never had an issue with motor temps with any of the ROC motors on 3S.

Bil, you should try the new 2700kv Puller Pro so you can tell us how great it is forcing me to buy one. You'll have the option to run 4s with one too. Just a thought.

All excited, taking the B1B out for a group run today up Mount Doug....fingers are crossed there's no walk of shame!

It was a long day of crawling today, 6 hours to be exact; 4.6 km run to the top of Mount Doug. No walk of shame today, but it was close! About 2/3 into the day I noticed the passenger side front Incision axle dogbone had shifted out of location, although it was not hitting the bottom of the DMG shock tower.....yet!
By the end of the day, the dogbone had started "eating" away the aluminum shock tower. This was the first time using these axles, I'll contact Vanquish Monday to see what they will do for me.

The B1B Bomber performed so incredibly well today, the day mostly consisted of all hard-core crawling. This machine puts a smile on my face from ear to ear, it's that much fun to drive.

Other than replacing the front axle, I will seek out some slightly stiffer springs for the front shocks to raise the ground clearance a bit.

The P-L Flat Iron XL tires with the CI DD 5.5 Comp Cut foams (Soft Outers) is a perfect combination.

Definitely one of my favourite rigs to drive now.

Damn those pins! Why am I not surprised? I'm sorry this happened to you Bil. I think you need to get a set of the new universals I'm testing for DLux as soon as he makes them available. We finally got a setup that will work without having to also run his knuckles if you're just looking for a drop in replacement.

I was hoping this wouldn't have happened with the Incision axles after reading about your Vanquish issues...ugh! Any idea as when DLux will have these new axles on the street? How much abuse have you put them through?

Three full 5000mah packs so far and ZERO pin movement. The whole design is beefier but still works with the Axial Yeti locker and Vanquish or stock style knuckles and caster blocks. I need to update my build thread but I can post a quick pic here if you want.

Everything about the VP and Incision VVDs are identical just different materials. The design and tolerances are the same so it makes sense the reliability issues are shared as well. Shame really.

Bil, your runnin wraith length trailing arms right? How are you likin them? Any cons or just pros with the hair shorter TA'S?

Also, whats the story behind all that smoke in that one picture? Was that an rc burn out?

It's kind of difficult to tell in the pics but the pins, dogbones, shafts, and drive cups are all significantly larger than anything else available with this type of design. These work with the Yeti locker but replace the two included outputs with Ti pins and larger outputs to accept the much larger dogbone end on DLux's universal. The uni stub shaft is an Axial stub shaft so it's compatible with everything else on the knuckle side. Simple and tough with strength added where it's needed. Erik might chime in with availability details but I will say that I just got these version 4.0s last week. The reason why it's taken so long to get to this point is because we were going back and forth getting the length on these shafts perfect. I think we're there and as long as they continue shrugging off the abuse, I think we have a real winner here.

Thank you for the info SCREAMER...I am very interested in these DLux shafts...let them know I want some!!!

84yoda, I am running the Yeti length Blue Monkey RC trailing arms on this B1B Bomber. I find the 15" WB works very well with this whole package, If I am experiencing any break-over hang-ups, I simply give it a shot of juice!! One of the guys out today vaps, so we thought it would make a kool photo!!!

I know that Erik has been working hard to get these available as soon as possible for us. He's very thorough at prototyping and testing so that when he finally has a product ready with his name on it, there's no surprises or excuses. I've really enjoyed working with him on this specific project and am proud to be a small part of it. All of DLux's products are second to none and I now have a little bit of insight as to why.

BTW, excellent pics. Thanks for sharing!

Here's the video from Saturday's run:

Bil, you should try the new 2700kv Puller Pro so you can tell us how great it is forcing me to buy one. You'll have the option to run 4s with one too. Just a thought.

Sorry Brian, I ended up ordering a Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro BL 540 3500kv WP.... I already have a good stock of 3S batteries!

Sweet! That video reminded me how much Ripsaws suck and how I need to move to Canada so I can crawl with you guys. Thanks for sharing Bil!!
