I am just starting an Enduro Builders kit and was wondering if it is worth putting a V1 IFS kit on it or just buy the newer V2. I bought the kit a while ago but it got put away when I moved (also life happened) and just now getting around to building it. I am reading through some of the other builds but is there any other mods you would do while building it? I am planning to just do a scale build with this unit, I have a Vanquish kit for more performance based. This is my first Associated kit, previously I built up Axial and Vanquish stuff.

Thanks.

It really depends on how much you plan on using the truck. My ifs1 that came with the Knightrunner when I got it, got used every weekend. When it broke I put all the bowhouse stuff on it that they sold. It worked well for a few more weekends, then rod ends kept breaking and the ifs1 has rod ends that I don’t have enough of and ended the trail runs short for me.

I recently swapped that truck to ifs2 after buying and building another ifs2 truck and realizing how much better the suspension works vs the ifs1 and how much more realistic it is. IMO the ifs2 is worth it in both ways, scale and performance.

Both my ifs2s are stock. There is nothing done to them, came out of the box and put on the trucks. I also don’t use weak servos, so they’ve been beat on pretty well.

I can't say anything for the IFS1, but I'll say that the IFS2 kit has been extremely durable and it performs quite well. I've got one on my SCX2, would recommend.

Hey! Currently trying to swap the IFS2 onto my SCX10 II. I can't find a conversion for it anywhere! Is there any tips you can share? I found the 3d print files for the IFS1, but nothing for the IFS2!

Another +1 for the IFS2 kit. The IFS1 suffers terribly from toe issues when cycling though the suspension range.

I couldn't find one either. I ended up buying an Enduro chassis, and got lucky that my aftermaret aluminum SCX centerplate/trans mount fit correctly. I did have to drill new holes to mount the SCX rear bumper tho.

I have swapped out 2 of my IFS 1 rig's out for the new IFS 2. I like the added ground clearance and better durability.

This is a disappointing discussion, considering I plan on using a V1 ifs kit, on a large scale build and widened it by an inch to make it fit width wise. Are the gears stout?

The gearing seemed ok for what I was using it for. I wasn't really bashing or pushing it hard. My major issue was how badly the toe changed throughout the suspension cycle. Which I honestly felt led to tire binding and most of the gear issues that people did see.

The suspension geometry on the v1 is just garbage.

Hmmmm, this is what I have:
I guess Ill just run it till the wheels fall off, or i get tired of fixing it
