Attn: NEWBIES POST HERE<<<<<<

Joined in 2021, bought a TRX4 for my grandson and a TRX4-sport. i gave him the sport for Christmas that year, and just built mine. I still fly planes and heli's but getting older and so are my eyes. I have always had a nitro buggy & truggy, ARRMA Outcast 1/12 scale Losi NASCAR, Losi Dirt Bike, and a Bolink. I want to get a Cheater crawler or Super Class, just need to figure which way to go. I like the Rhino and also like the MOA's. been reading here to try and decide my next buy.

I never posted here as a newbie... Better late than Never.

I joined back in 2013, and have been into RC since well before that. When I was younger I always wanted to get into Crawlers. Just couldnt afford them at the time. In 2013, as a high school graduation gift to myself I bought an SCX10 JK Unlimited kit to build. It wasn't until I moved into the local state park that I finally got to run it. That rig now has hundreds and hundreds of miles on it. With one Year hiking over 500 miles in 6 months.

Nowadays, after a brief hiatus, I am back into the hobby harder than ever. I still have my OG SCX10, as well as a 10.2, 10.3, a bomber, and wraith. I am working on brining back my build threads, but struggling with the update to the forum. Specifically posting photos, and all that. Hopefully I figure out the problem, as there has been some fun builds I've done lately!

I'm new to forums, but I have been into rc since about 2020.

My first rc rig was a TRX4 79' Bronco, and I still have it. Poor thing's been through hell and back. I first got into the hobby from seeing some pretty dope looking YouTube videos, and so I got myself a TRX4. After that, it was a couple of years before I got anything else, because of how much stuff costs and I was constantly improving (and repairing) the Bronco. So far I had to completely tear it down twice. I'm surprised that there were no super major breakdowns.

Today, I like creating stuff in CAD for RC parts. Currently, I'm working on a beadlock rim, and making miscellaneous parts. If anyone's got any interesting ideas, I'm happy to hear them. Now, I'm going to try to get out more, and drive the Bronco a bit more. Probably going to see what I can do with more CAD, and just tinker. I'm probably going to see what I can share around here, including 3D models as well as different builds I have wanted to try for a long time, because I have seen some pretty cool stuff!

I have two trx4s and I did all I could to burn up the electronics with no luck lol. I did lose a motor in my D110 but that was after a good long thrashing of nasty terrain over about a year. Replaced it with a Holmes Hobbies trail-master. Eventually decided to replace the esc but the orig xl5 was still fine. Went with a Hobbywing 1080wp. Was nice just for the added functions but otherwise I didn't have to replace the oem. Servo was the only upgrade I ever needed to make on my Bronco and D110 and went with direct power Holmes Hobbies shv500 v2. Great servos. Scrapped the Traxxas plugs in favor of XT60s so that I wasn't stuck with Traxxas' overpriced batteries.

But yeah, besides one motor, everything else has been fine incl tx/ rx, micro servos, etc. Added some weight down low and scrapped the Traxxas plugs in favor of xt60s and added some steel driveshafts to my D110 but old plastic shafts were still good. Most of what I've added, changed, upgraded, etc hasn't been out of necessity. And although I run a lot of different tire/ wheel/ foam combinations, the stock Canyon Trail tires are a pretty decent trail tire.
