5Th Dimension Sucker Punch "The Green Machine"

Looks good, however it's not legal per USRCCA rule set, although some local clubs comps might allow it.

Yeah, I work on the weekends, so I can never get to an official comp, but I way prefer bodiless for my own amusement!

Finally had some time to get out and shakedown my rig (Our local club comp season is over until October). The Green Machine handled good enough for World's. I have a few changes planed after World's, Different Knuckles so I can run Knuckle weights & lighter transmission. videos below

I wasn't happy with my battery mounted on my axle being exposed. So I relocated it to my ESC/electronics tray a much better location for the battery IMO.
I'm not happy where I have my esc now, but will have to do.

Personally I like my battery mounted on the opposite side of the motor to even out the chassis weight, electronics go on the plate behind the servo. The battery is also easier to change out with it on the side. A couple bends of some lexan make a rather nice side battery mount."thumbsup"

Yeah, up high where you don't need any extra weight.
How about Chris's idea with the lexan holder on the side of the chassis. He has his battery there, but it could be a decent spot for the electronics.

Edit: Ooops, I see he beat me.

I thought about mounting battery like Chris. My thinking is my electronic package is lighter than a battery(esc/receiver/bec= 26g vs battery 56g). My wraith transmission is so heavy asis didn't want to add anymore weight than necessary on chassis. I should mount esc lower somehow.
after World's I'll figure out how to mount electronics on axle somehow leaving battery in place..

Ok so my ESC package sitting on-top of my trans, wasn't the best place for it. I've stared at it for a week every day after work:roll:...

So I decided today I'll make a new axle battery mount. I just can't find a better location for my ESC package then it's original location behind the servo.... The reason I didn't like my old axle battery mount it let the battery sit to far forward. With the new battery mount it allows the battery to angle in and sit closer to the shock.. Using a 3x5 index card to make a template and some scrap aluminum I had laying around this is what I came up with.

I have been thinking about a fun comp machine, just something to go down to the rock pit down the road, and your build looks like it would be great for that!!!!! "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Ran a few battery packs yesterday to shake out any gremlins & to get some time on the Green machine. Besides the lack of steering The rig did really well especially for using spare parts/donor U4 Wraith.
Things I want to change, F & R upper links to 1/8 titanium & work on my steering.
