Scott's Sucker Punch Sporty with AXR10 Axles

I had to go a slightly stronger rear spring set than the MRC's to stop my front from unloading too much on a steep climb. But, I'm using AR60's and that may be a difference. MRC's worked fine on my previous SuckerPunch with extended SCX axles.

I was planning on using the current fronts in the rear. I'll eventually figure out the springs. Maybe by the 2017/2018 season :lmao:

That kinda sums up everyone's day on Sat.

Couple more photos I found from the last comp by Nick and Kelly

Then a couple photos from the comp we had on Saturday:

(this gate was tough with the slick conditions and muddy pins, still ended up hitting the lower one )

I spent the night before the comp trying to eliminate some front end binding that I was having. I think I sorted most of that out, just need to now need to lengthen the front shock a touch.

I'm also contemplating switching over to wraith axles for a few reasons.
1. My C3 is on wraith axles and it makes sense from a cross over perspective to run the same axles on both.
2. Using a Dlux servo mount will get the servo lower on the axle.

Spaced out my upper links on the chassis side by 2mm as I noticed the upper rod ends were hitting the chassis.

Remounted my RX again (I've must have done this a few times by now) as I noticed it was hitting the driveline at full compression.

Front end is void of all binding and is the smoothest it has been.

Taking the rigs down to Portland for the weekend and going to catch a comp with the ORCRC crawler crew.

Only pic from the ORCRC comp:

That was a rough gate and my skid was getting hung up.

After that I spent more time tweaking the front suspension after that. Pulled out the pivot ball I had under the piston on the front shocks.

Then we had our WARCRC comp this past Saturday and managed to get 1st!

Pretty happy with how the truck is driving.

Here are a few pics (thanks to Nick from https://www.facebook.com/ThrashingDragonPhoto/ for the pics!)

Changes are coming. I'm going to be switching over to AR60s. If luck would have it I should have the swap done by this weekend. Pics to follow

Any reason why? Seems like the AR60's allow for better packaging.

Couple reasons:

1. Since my C3 is on AR60s, from a similarity standpoint it would make sense to also have AR60s on my sporty.
2. I really like the Dlux trusses for AR60s and how much lower it gets the servo.
3. Cboggs sporty kills it and I'm building kind of a clone of his.

The ar60 is absolutely my favorite front axle by far. It's just so damned versatile and easy to package it makes life easy. Scx V1 axles are a compromise. You're always having to compromise servo and battery location vs weight placement and clearance for the tires while turning vs scrub steer. It's just a bastard all the way around.

I definitely like how the servo sits with the DLUX truss.

Making good progress on the truck, pics are lacking as I've been trying to get this done for Reno.

Things I have left to do:
-Mount electronics (my least favorite thing to do)
-Fix WB (currently sitting at 12.6)
-Mount transmission (either Hamburger or stock, depends on if the stuff I need for the Hamburger arrives on time)
-Make sure it goes forward, backwards, right and left
