The chassis shown here is a quick piece done to hold an ERevo tranny and electronics.

Another question I keep getting asked:
How do I install the solid front axle on my Yeti XL?

Answer:
You probably won't be doing that. The axle conversion is for advanced builders who are making their own chassis. If you want to mount it to the front of your XL you have 2 options:
1. Cut up the current chassis and fabricate mounts.
2. Get a second chassis and cut both in half. Then stick the two back ends together.

Thank you for pointing out the pictures. I am sorry as this is in the Yeti XL part of the forum, I presumed that this would work on a Yeti XL, hence the reason I asked for pictures installed. I'm not sure but the truck above doesn't look like the Yeti XL I own......?????

I am sincerely sorry for the sarcasm ( maybe not completely ) but come on, the way this is posted, it could leave someone to believe it's intended for the Yeti XL.

I love it. I'm also curious if anything ever came about the upgraded wheel bearings?

Chuck,

I can understand the confusion. That's why we have said it's to convert the solid axle to a steering axle from the beginning and use it in custom builds. It's not to put a solid axle on the front of your XL. The axle is for advanced builders that want to use the XL and build something unique.

The truck in the pictures uses the XL axles front and rear and generally we classify a rig by its axles, so this is a fitting place for it. Eventually there will be a 1/8 scale XL based monster truck section, but for now this is all we have. That truck was built to showcase the axle conversion and encourage others to build something.

As far as looking like your XL, you can use the parts and add rear steering to your truck.

We started to look at doing a new set of knuckles that would fit the conversion and stock, but there aren't too many bearings available that would work as be easy to get.

Do you have any thoughts about bearing size? I'd love to pick something that is available from Boca or Fast Eddy.

I think some were considering this axle for a rear steer and perhaps 1/8 crawler duty, that may explain some of the criticism.

What I still can not see is detailed pictures of the axle, not of the build...no one cares about the build...they want to see the axle!

Take thw wheels off and get some close ups, get serious about advertising and perhaps you spark some orders!

I will have to look. I know that I had good luck with my losi 8ight bearings. Could always use a spacer if the axle shaft is too small. I have not done any measuring. I'm sure many others here have way more knowledge than me. I'll look at sizes when I get home.

So let me get this straight; if I put these pieces on my rear axle housing, along with the steering knuckles and front CVJ axles from the front of a yeti XL, and add a steering servo, I could have steering on the rear of my yeti XL? I was just wondering about the steering knuckles and which axles would be used I'm assuming it's the front CVJ axles and front steering knuckles from the stock front end of a yeti XL...correct?

Exactly! You can convert a regular Yeti XL to rear steering.

Any idea when the Beta testers will post their findings? Any word whether the rear wheel steer will actually fit on the YXL using this set up?

Beta testers have reported back to us with great satisfaction. We do need to modify the lower link mount and change the truss to include the servo mount.
