What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

And the subtle body lines. Just used the thin Sharpie method."thumbsup"

Wow! Awesome job.
Are those stock tires? Try some 4.19 tires, they will fit wheel well better and will look very scale.

Thanks! No, those are RC4WD tires on LockedUp RC wheels. I've got another set of beadlocks that I'm going try the Canyon Trails on.

Not today, but the other day, installed LockedUpRC black steel chubs and knuckles for an additional 6oz on the front axle. Running the stock plastic portal covers, so all the added weight is either ON the axle housing or as close to the kingpin pivot as possible so the servo can put all the power to turning the wheels vs added weight hanging way out past the kingpins.

Ok, now that looks better than the Sport body, I still liked what you did with that Sport body though, one of the few I've seen that I liked."thumbsup"

Here's some mods I made to my TRX4 Sport...decided on the Sport because was just going strictly crawler. Didn't want all the extra servos and weight of the Defender body, plus Im more of a Jeep guy.:D

Basically did everything at once:
Over/Under gears
Some Brass weights, Diff cover
Metal servo horn
Savox Servo
Front and rear bumpers direct mounted to frame for a nice fit
Raised up the side skid rails
Proline Jeep body
Proline Hyrax 5.7 tires mounted on HR 2.2 wheels
MIP Wheel spacer kit
...and some other random cutting and re-adjusting...

Cut the Jeep body fenders and the Traxxas body skid rails to fit 5.7 tires

Moved the battery to sit sideways and lower, cut the ends of the battery tray and mounted them to the chassis, moved the esc so its easier to power on/off with the body on the frame, mounted the receiver up front to the servo with velcro...this also eliminates the need for an extension wire. (this picture was taken before I cut the skid rails to fit the bigger tires)

Backyard test boulder field...sanded off some of the old paint that was chipping away on the inside of the body and added some color/rust

Pretty stoked on how it turned out and what this thing is capable of, been having a blast crawling it!

Most recent changes from the last couple of days:
11t pinion and 45t spur
STRC Brass Steering Knuckles and Caster Blocks

Slipped the GearHead RC UTE wheels with the smaller Rockbeasts on the Sporto. I gotta say, I'm liking this look. "thumbsup"

I also had a lightbar laying around that I didn't care for. The problem was the way they brought the leads into the housing, it offset the LEDS. So mounted centered on anything, the lights appeared offset to one side. Anyways, I made a little mount and slipped it up behind the grill and pointing down. Instant rock lights!"thumbsup"

Added a rear bumper with tire holder from amazon to match the front one.

Put some amazon hydrax tires on the rc4wd wagon deep dish wheels.

Used the canyon trail tires stretch over some 2.2 beadlocks for the spare.

With 3S in 2nd, the weight of that rear wheel REALLY. And I mean REALLY changes how thing thing handles.

It’s raining out. But it’s drifting around corners WOT, and just getting it! Lol.i wish I could post a video here.

I freaking LOVE the rear tire weight. It actually handles really well. It’s like you can FEEL it ya know? Haha. I’m smiling it was so fun.

Get yourself the rear tire holder and slap a metal bead lock on it. So much fun in 2nd on 3S.

The joy!

Roller showed up today. Don’t really have much for plans other then the mamba x combo posted earlier.

Maybe get some new diff covers and eventually bumpers.

Sticking with defender body for now.

Got the GearHeadRC roof rack with Torch LED lightbar installed. Also got my on/off switch and splitter harness for all the lights rigged up. She's starting to look like a legit exploration rig.

I'm going to do a little aluminum deck for the rack like I did for the Truggy as well. "thumbsup"

Also ordered up some new Front and Rear bumpers. I can't abide the plastic.

Banged out the aluminum deck for the rack real quick. I think it definitely finishes them off nicely, plus it provides a nice flat surface. Not sure what all I'm going to adorn it with yet in terms of scale goods.

Now, I just gotta get an interior figured out.

Finally installed the flysky GT5 to the bronco.
I can now change each diff open or closed how I want rather than how Traxxas setup was.

3rd = shift
4th = winch
5th =rear diff
6th = front diff

Took today off to get ready for a weekend trip. Got out twice today, two different sides of the same mountain.

Not many photos but it was a good day for sure. Body held up well this time.

So I pretty well cannibalized the RTR Sport body to get the Commanche looking the way I wanted. Still some stuff to do, but I'm liking the direction it's headed.

I think I'll order the actual Traxxas Expedition kit/rack for the RTR body and do her up as well. "thumbsup"

It lives!
Installed the motor/esc today.
Turns out my controller I got with the roller already had the link adapter so I set that up as well very cool feature imo. This is my first traxxas radio since my original tmaxx radio from 1999. Everything else i use with my dx5c.
