transmission/motor and such should be showing up this week, only parts i still need is a rear driveshaft, and figure out what servo i want to use in it

Well I’m going to stay away from the “sweet new electronics” . I have 9 SCX24’s , Im going to upgrade from the V1 to the V2 ESC , they work just fine for what I do with them .
Actually my best slow crawler is a stretched out deadbolt with a 180 and the Spektrum 2in1 ESC from a AX24 . I found 130 and 180 motors work great with those once noisy V1 and Spektrum electronics.

of my 20 scx24's. i have 2 that aren't running on V2's. they just work(those two are running furitek systems)

That’s wild NW, what motors are you using? It seems like that would be a lot of stress for a smaller motor.

i've tried that same trans setup for using larger motors but it seems to have no low end no matter what i do, most of my trucks are running a V2 with an HR motor

that and most of my trucks bodies are too low to fit a taller transmission case

I have a RCAWD 180 51T in one rig , I think it has the stock gearing . It does a very good slow crawl and is quiet but the machining of the spur gear and trans gears looks dull and easy to wear out.

i've seen the same on other aftermarket spur gears, keeps me from trying them ya know?

I put the last coat of neon pink on my Datsun six twenty cab. Hopefully I can start on mounting it to my chassis tonight.
