Inspired by @Saltrock - No pics but I finally got around to setting up a rip-rap ( concrete chunk) course in the backyard and spent a very nice sunny day putting my scx24 through it's paces. Hadn't run it in a while and had forgotten just how fun these little things can be... and capable too.

Plugged the battery into the motor connection on the V1 ESC . POOF .

transmission/motor and such should be showing up this week, only parts i still need is a rear driveshaft, and figure out what servo i want to use in it

Well I’m going to stay away from the “sweet new electronics” . I have 9 SCX24’s , Im going to upgrade from the V1 to the V2 ESC , they work just fine for what I do with them .

Actually my best slow crawler is a stretched out deadbolt with a 180 and the Spektrum 2in1 ESC from a AX24 . I found 130 and 180 motors work great with those once noisy V1 and Spektrum electronics.

I like to see what performance I can get out a brushed motor . Here’s a current speed mod I’m working on .

That’s wild NW, what motors are you using? It seems like that would be a lot of stress for a smaller motor.

That’s a FMS 130 , 18 tooth mod 5 pinion , 32 tooth spur .

Tonight’s project . Injora 55 turn 180 , 11 tooth mod 4 pinion , 40 tooth spur gear . Building it for a future SCX18 build.
