The Best of the West: Oct. 27-28th - Wendover, NV

Another thing to keep in mind is that we are at somewhat of a higher elevation. Meaning, the sun is pretty warm. I crawled in Wendover last week and it was high of 60* I believe. That was in a T shirt and pants. I would have been tempted to wear shorts too. Mid 50's is PERFECT!

Oh, BTW, since I am being open about what I have tried tire wise,... I tried BC's again out here and I thought they sucked more than normal. Sedona and Rover territory FO SHIZ

Rovers goooooooood. Thanks man.

That is hoodie and shorts weather..... 8)

Man I hope so. I was going to bring a snowmobile suit:ror:.

They both get hard. And lipos suck too...

Thought about that and I'm stuffing them low and tight to give new meaning to the phrase "Lipo Sack".

Wow! You southerners act like its going to be below freezing.

I thought that's what 65F was?

Keep in mind, saturday morning at nats I was freezing in shorts and a sweatshirt and Eric was perfectly comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. I haven't seen temps under 70 in over a year, so wendover is going to be butt ass cool!

I seem to remember a few of you guys complaining about the heat and humidity at the nats........now it's our turn. :ror:

Not so much that I was complaining, it was just so weird. I really thing "humidity" needs to be re named to "light rain". You also have to understand that if you have any sweat marks on your shirt in the west, your typically looked at as being a gross pig. I was pretty concerned when my whole shirt started sweating. :lmao:

Actually, I guess the morning is supposed to have a low of 30* so, yeah below freezing.

If I only would have known that the weather would have this effect on people I would have waited another week or two. :ror: If you think your lipos, shock oil and tires have a hard time at 50*, you should try our January comp where it was 17* for a high 2 yrs ago.

Yeah, I think it was close to 75*? Burrrr!:flipoff:

:ror: You should head over to Florida sometime.....it makes the south feel like Arizona. :ror:

Just keep em in your pocket until you run"thumbsup"

Thats what we do up here. We have comped in pouring rain with 40* highs, and clear days with 20* air, and iced over water as part of the course. So we need to keep our packs warm.

Those temps arent scary at all. Right now it's like 55 in my shop. I sit all day so I never build up warmth. I start to sweat at 60:lmao:

So off the weather subject...what's the travel distance from car to site? Just curious as it will affect the packing off supplies. Getting way too excited for this. No worries on the weather though us north westerners are setup for all degrees and make of weather.

x2 "thumbsup" PNW represent!

Um...I know that MY below will be freezing.

How can an innie freeze? I thought you need an outtie to have your giblets freeze:flipoff::lmao:

Or even worse go some place god-aweful nutsweathot like Houston"thumbsup".

Like they say "Houston, we have a problem".

No shit. I drove my jeep for 10 years with no AC......when I moved here, I thought I was going to die. Within 3 months I bought a factory AC unit and installed it in the parking garage of the apartment where I was living. Showing up to work in slacks and a button up shirt with a sweaty back isn't always the best thing for a new job.:ror:

I must say though, the weather in this city from fall to spring is simply amazing. When the winds are out of the north, I love it here....."thumbsup"

Just keep em in your pocket until you run"thumbsup"
Yep, I learned that when our club had a Northern transplant visit in the wintertime. We all thought he was crazy, until his truck wasn't the only one that was glitching like crazy....:ror:

I'm almost ready to roll, I need to have a quick look at my rigs and make sure that are ready to lay the smack down on everyone as usual. Just cause I haven't updated or driven my rig much lately doesn't mean I'm not going to whoop the pants off you guys this weekend :flipoff:

I'm not heading out till Saturday morning. Staying at the Peppermill with all the other crazies

Your all going down!!!

It may be cold out there this weekend, but nothing a shot of whiskey wouldn't clear up:ror:

I hope all you girls are ready for this place, because I've been saying for years that wendovers terrain will leave most people's jaws on the ground.
I've been looking forward to the day that we had a big comp like this out there.

See you kids in a couple days.

Make sure you bring one of those new "Team" Chassis out with ya so I can test it for ya.

Just a heads up call ahead to your hotel and make sure they have your reservation. The Peppermill website booked us at the Reno Peppermill instead of Wendover. All they had was smoking rooms left so we are over at Rainbow casino.

Glad Jesse called and double checked before we left on friday. It would have sucked if we showed up and didn't have a room.

well right now its snowing in ely nv which is 100 miles south but also a couple thousand feet higher in elevation lol but there goes the only practice i was hoping to get it (damn hunting season)

The only places I would stay away from would be Motel 6, Knights Inn and the Red Garter. I have stayed at the Knights Inn and Motel 6 and they were not the worst places I have ever stayed in, just far from the best. They are the cheapest though.

Oh, I plan to! "thumbsup"

Is that 3s in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? :ror: Classic.

There were reports of it snowing in La Grande, OR yesterday.

well that sucks, but on the other hand the Rainbow Casino sounds FAAAAABULOUS.
I figure all the guys from southern cali would be all over the rainbow casino. :lmao::flipoff:

Warm shower, bed, food and a place to work on rigs is all I need. Just don't want mice and bed bugs to carry me off.

Trust me, I am a pretty easy to please guy, I dont need much either. I actually stay at the Knights inn most of the time because its usually $20 cheaper than anywhere. Its on the edge of my comfort level though.

hey man in prison its a hustle, send me your room number ill bring the cup o soup and pack of smokes:wink:

You at the rainbow also?

The motel 6 in Helena, MT is a scary motel the 2nd floor room I stayed in had soft spots in the floor. For the 1st and 2nd scale nats it was where all the action was.
