Tedrockzs 2013 Special Agent Berg build

Glad you guys are enjoying the shafts. Still no failures to date, even in supers. I think you will enjoy them for a long time coming.

Would you mine posting a pictures to show off that Steering
Thought I did:ror:

anyhow...
This is as far as my tie rod will allow for now. It hits the servo. Needs longer 0 ackerman arm I think.(Edit: Just ordered some from RcBros)

On a roll tonight:ror: Figured I would get back on my bastard child rig. Redone the electronics since it was just thrown in before and had an older sidewinder micro sling a rod.

My first smash job. Don't laugh to much. Two sidewinders, BEC, 18 ga TQRacing wire and a y adapter to straight feed the servo...

Gonna make a 4 hour 1 way trek tomorrow to buy a new servo and RX. The Hobbyshop up in Huntsville is a RC junkies paradise...

What happen?
srry I jacked ur thread ted....under load in a jam ...truck pushed steering farther then I had it set to on servo and then I gassed it ,the joint was turned to a point of lock up and snap . I need a steering stop to prevent it from pushing past the servos end points.

The point where the weld meets the shaft will always be the weak point, anyone in engineering will know that, the other down fall is the shaft diameter... Ive heard some guys say they are strong cause they are from nitros, The fact they come from a nitro doesn't mean they will be good in a crawler, it's like saying a Ferrari axles are perfect for a truggy.

Thanks for posting. Sorry you had to join up to post.

I asked because I've got these shafts myself and will be making then the same.

Sorry to OP for getting of track.

Come on guys. I cant believe you would post in this thread, the shafts have nothing to do with it. If you want to discuss, please start a new thread.

These shafts have nothing to do with nitro or the Bully shafts I make. 100% different.

You dont have these shafts.

I have no problem with it. It's all tech IMO.

With all that being said this is the only case I've heard of these Dlux modded shafts breaking. No one else has stepped up to make a viable option for this set up. SDS says that his is in the works still but is at the mercy of a third party. Vanquish teased us with a set for Bergs but that never come to light. Guess Axial did not approve.

If anyone has a better solution please step up!!! My paypal awaits"thumbsup"

Ok, thanks. Just say the word if you change your mind.....

First off, there are two different types of shafts. The first type is the Bully style shaft I have been making for awhile now. I have been making these for a bit longer and I sell these on my site. These are proven. I have sold many sets including sets for supers and to date, ZERO have broken. The second type is the Axial shafts such as Tedrockz and TheWheelman have. The Axial shafts are based off the Ofna/Bully shaft. Even though I assumed they would be the same, small differences can make big changes.

The metal that Axial is using is pretty much junk. I am getting a lot of porosity and I have to put way, way more heat into the shafts than I want which can cause other issues. The Bully or Ofna shafts are a much better metal and that is why there have been no issues while the Axial needs a slight revision.

I am not selling these shafts as of yet. I dont have them on my site. This is for a reason. Anybody who has PM'd me for a set will tell you, I am being really up front that they are prototypes and even telling people that they may break on the first pack. So, in a case just like this, there should be no surprise that they break. Please dont make me regret offering them up. I wanted to offer the prototypes to people who are in desperate need. The final product is not yet released, when they are, they will be bullet proof.

The shafts that are in the picture are a great example of how the design can change. That was a version 1 and I have been making version 2 for a bit now. Thats how testing goes. BTW, even though there have been some flaws in V1, they are still proving to be a great shaft. I have sold quite a few sets and only had 3 failures out of all of them. On an even brighter note, if one does break, you can send it back to me and I can fix it and upgrade it to the newer version.

again srry if this does not belong in here. I only posted in here cause I knew Mr.rockzs also had these shafts and a lot more ppl would read it here from him then else where from me. I think it does kinda go with his build. srry to anyone I pissed off by doing this.
and again I was not saying any bad about d-lux work or products.
I was my fault!
the solution seems to simple , thanks for the advice I knew I would get from all you guys!
I spoke to rc bro on making a set of stops, he informed me he uses the arms off an old axial knuckle. cuts off the arms and taps to fit. as I don't have 2 sets of arms for the vp wraith knuckle ,this seems to be what I will try.
any other steering stops out there?

The $$ savings of the Dlux over the alternatives is pretty significant also "thumbsup" So considering the turning, durability, price, availability, and customer service with the Dlux Universals...I don't see myself changing to a different option even if one were to ever become available. I just don't see the point.

It's possible to break anything if you try hard enough ;-)
