South San Fran, Wed Night crawls

another awesome evening of crawlin :)

a few highlights:

Dave became the resident servo tech.
he fried his hitech and was abt to bail.
As we talked about our inventory of spare-parts...Dave found the problem, fixed it and was back on the rocks 8)

Hard luck rock seemed HARDER then I remembered.
I blamed my new wheel-foam config., and I'm sticking to it.
Even thought I was able to make it, I'm going back to the previous setup...remember it was easier before.

Scott found a new line  what was the name?
will upload a vid. this evening.

Dima,
I had your $$, but I forgot my radio...so I bought one of those SICK DX3R radios.
should have some $ next pay-check :p

Anxious to finish my dig, as it seems like we are well on our way to having some killer lines out there 8)

The Wednesday Night crowd is getting bigger...great to see new faces out there.

see you guys next week.

Yep, great night of crawlin', lots of people out there with there rigs, all different set ups. Everyone one was friendly and having a good time.
That's what it's all about.

Bent70's new line is a nice continuation of the deep wedge run. The name however will be abbreviated due to it's maturity level (or lack there of :ror:), the name is "C. G. Canyon". I think "Baby-batter Buttes" would have cleared sensors.

I gotta a feeling there will be more people next week, challenging lines are addictive.

Yep a good time for sure that I almost missed  Glad I got the servo going again.

Doug, what servo is Wes going to have next week that is the equal to the 5645MG?

Here's the link to the SR3001 for $70 (not $60 ;-)) RX http://www.ultimatehobbies.com/istar.asp?a=6&id=SPM1205!1002&color=N%2FA&size=N%2FA&subsize=

I believe you can bind these Losi's to the DX3R too, but I could not find a better price in 30 seconds of searching. http://cgi.ebay.com/LOSI-MRX-3000-D...VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

Hitec 5645mg digital is only $35 and the 645mg is analog at $25.
The Hitec 5955tg is the 333oz servo at $89 on Fleabay.

The servo he is getting in is hobbico cs 170 for around 80-90$.http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNRN6
I think I am going another route for $20 more.....can you say 416oz @ 7.2v.

I'm down for a little work linking lines and make new trails."thumbsup"

hobby shops

Hey guys....I was wondering if you could tell me what hobby shops you use for crawler parts in the bay area. Going down to see MOM and will be in the area today.
Local from San Bruno but now in Stockton...

theres another one in redwood city area, but can't remember the name :p
J and M hobbies on Laurel Rd.
Jake's Performance Hobbies in Rohnert Park and Hobbytown in Concord carry alot of great replacement and HP parts.
Great thing is Wes at Allspeed is seeing more crawlers coming in and he's ordering accordingly. He has a bit of Axial parts and has ordered some ARTR kits.
He tried to open an account with RC4WD, who is in Redwood Shores (15 miles south) but single lines orders are too pricey for a small new shop. He'd love to carry their stuff.

I'm going to try and head down to g tec tomorrow....I'm finishing up some new servo and battery plates in stainless"thumbsup" in the morning and may go after... I'll post up if i do.

Manny, Dima and myself should be there also, just don't have a time yet. Waiting to hear from Dima.
