For anyone who might be interested, we are going to plot out a dirt track for any fast dirt trucks; Short Course, Monster, Terra Buggy and maybe 1/8 scale (might be on the small side).
This will be the next to the most North Gtek parking lot right next to UPS.
These is a great patch of dirt there with no aggregate and decent shelter from the wind. Tons of good parking. Also this place will not be destroyed like Sierra Point was because you can't get a full size truck out there.
This coming Sunday, May 1st, we'll be scoping it out and nailing down some borders. Please, anyone who wants to help out feel free to post up or come out.
We're doing a simple plan at first with room to modify jumps and burms later. It's best to modify after the layout has a feel for obstacle locations.
Help will be scoping the track details and nailing down the borders. Tools for now are push brooms and hammers. A couple of shovels will help with cleaning the track surface of rocks.
We should be able to get something out there really quick and play.
Post up if you could help.
Thanks
Thanks for all the help "thumbsup".
Gtek North now has a decent SC course.
It was fun building it today, only took 1.25 hours and it's pretty damn good. Was fun as hell to run too.
The plan is to play Wednesday nights and some weekends, meanwhile track improvements will happen when it's the easiest. One jump, not pictured in the long straight away so far. Another jump and rhythm section will be nice. As time goes by there will be opportunities to expand. It's just too tough to cut the grassy weeds out.
Unlike Sierra Point, no a$$holes could destroy it with full size trucks. It's very low impact on the area and garbage doesn't seem to find it's way out there. The only concern is the local park system may have an issue but I don't think they are inspired to work beyond 5 feet of their trucks, so we should be good.
It's kind of sad to say that this track is officailly..................................
Too small now...................................
