SHV500 12v servo- you don't need a BEC!

Does it void the warranty to put dielectric grease inside?
And a small bit of grease on the gears?

So far the ones with 16v internals have held up rather well. Quite a few people are unofficially running 4s. The current and previous inventory is all 16v power caps. the next batch will be all 25v+. Same for the HV. It will be revamped to run 2s and 3s direct "thumbsup"

working with the factory on that still. Previously they weren't willing, they wanted us to write our own code from scratch. I have warmed them up for some trades of labor though, they provide basic code and we are writing a "windows" program to modify the code and inject it back into the servo. It will take some time yet. You could always use a slightly longer servo horn to gain some travel without increasing throw angle.


Hey John, Im glad to hear the new ones will be 4s capable. My question is what would be the cost to send mine back to get it upgraded to handle 4s? I have one that is less than a year old and is having troubles centering. Maybe you could address both issues? To be clear it is not a major problem, just annoying.

Also do you know what connectors are used with the crimpers? I found shinji's post with regards to the crimper tool and would like to have a recommendation for the ends and crimps

Gear breakage isn't an issue. We have pretty much solved the pin bending breaking, but some folks (2.2 rock racing) still bend them. V2 is coming out this week though! Bigger center pin, and wider voltage range.

And I still have not even installed mine that I bought right on the release date!

I won't be TRYING to break anything, but I'm curious if an early-adopter like myself does break a NIB but older-release SHV500 can get an upgraded model upon returning the older one plus a certain "pro-rated" amount of cash?
 
yeah, we can totally work with you on that. All the old ones we have with mussed up cases are getting rebuilt into the new style anyway.

Of course I am still rocking an original in my Wraith with zero issues. Tumbled that guy down many hills trying to kill the servo, no luck.

I'm not a lunatic... My Traxxas basher days were over more than a decade ago...

I'm happily learning to crawl (Freudian slip, there) with my new K10 Ascender (stock on 2S).

My bought a year-and-a-half ago RR10 kit and upgrade parts collection (never built yet!!) will get the SHV500 along with the just-as-old HH PP 3500kv (NIB) and a Mamba Monster X, running 3S.

Eventually the 2200kv PP I also got from ya the same time goes in the Ascender.... with the newer Mamba X.

Hey John I see the BLS SHV500v2 is listed on the website now but the specs mirror those of the v1 servo. Can you give us the updated specs? (i.e. wider voltage range, torque and speed at 16.8v, etc.)

Go up a couple of post to #107 and read.

Version 2 has larger center pin and wider voltage range.
 
Ok cool... so what is the torque and speed on 4s voltage? Is it good for 6s fully charged? I didn’t read these things in the earlier posts... did you?

I updated the shv specs earlier today or yesterday, check again now. Good for 2s through 4s. Don't have official numbers on 4s yet, just lots of testing time. It's super fast and stout!

I just got one V2 and it says 11.1-15V on the package. so I can just ignore that and use 4s power up to 16.8v directly?
