I've had my eye on the shv800 for a while for my comp rig but HH just released the shv650 which is a few bucks more and around the same oz ranges and a couple grams lighter. anyone see any advantage to the 650 over the 800? looking to be swayed one way or the other (not that either are a bad choice and both are more than adequate)

Thanks all!

I don't have a 650 but I do have a few rigs with 500v3's, and a single 800 in my Phoenix. Short answer, they should provide you with more than enough steering power. I think the draw of the 650 (and the 500 and 800 may work this way, or that might be the next version) is that it can be powered off the battery or the receiver.

800 all day long. A good bit more power (even though the 650 is still overkill), and a little cheaper. My 500V3 has yet to feel down on power so the 800 is a monster.

I was still leaning towards the 800 because why not. glad to know neither of you have had any issues or lack of power w the 500's. thanks for the responses. I'm curious where the couple extra bucks on cost comes from. must be the new brushless motor

i have the 800 it is amazing, and for a like 10$ pricetag more than the 500 it is no brainer. the 650 is nice but still not as good numbers as the 800, it is bit more expensive. i havent seen a video explaining why yet myself. probably do to the controller price stock increase or better drivers than the 800 maybe?! but i would think for the numbers the 800 is pushing the driver/firmware seem to be perfect anyway.

From what I've heard the 800 will be priced much higher in the future. The 650 will sit between the 500 and 800 as a sweet spot price wise.
