Anyone experimented with 4.8v phone batteries? it lacks the LiPo battery's oomph! but maybe a longer overall runtime?
ive seen this over at MTF a while back. runtime is long as hell but at only half the power
all my cellphones for the last few years even before touch screen smart phones have been lithium batteries. Do a search in the micro forum for it. Im sure Ive seen a build or 2 here using themMTF?
got a link?
Half power is fine for my rig, its tiny. just want longer run times with less time charging. and don't want to deal with LiPo's right now. running everything on the extra cheap! xD
Thanks! you spent a moment to find them I spent a moment setting up a pointless account to see them!"thumbsup"Micro T Forum. you have to be a member to view the threads so idk how useful these links will be but here ya go

EDIT: even though they appear to be just a login link they are links to cell phone battery mods
I honestly wish i knew more...when i read thru this thread i get even more confused and lost....what/how are you guys charging these little sweet cheap packs.
I plan to buy a lipo wall charger and a turnigy 180 mah 2s lipo battery.
What charge and run time can I expect to see? I was told 10 minute charge time and 20+ minutes of run time for the battery?
Please let me know. Thanks
I'm sure these have been posted but I just tried these and like them just swap the connector out carefully
Value Hobby R/C Hobby Store (Bensenville, Illinois): GForce 20C 180mAh 2S 7.4V LiPO (E-Flite UMX Replacement)
Only like $2.00 each plus the cost of the connector so like $2.75 total. Just order a few when you order I think the shipping was flat $5 or something.
I just got some of these today. Also ordered the mini Deans connectors. So far I'm liking them, and for those interested, they do fit in the stock location, just a hair tight but fit.
