Optic Kit Coming

I planned on getting a Reefs 800LP.
But...
Today on the Reefs Livestream, they announced they were going to put up some "Reefs Bundles"
a Micro Bundle 100.00 get 150+ of Micro Gear.
A Pro Bundle 150.00 get 250+ of 1/10th Gear.
A Ultimate Bundle 300.00 Get 400+ of 1/10th gear.

When they mentioned the bundles, I stated one should be a good fit for the H10 Kit I have coming, and Reefs said the Ultimate Kit would likely be a great "Bundle" for the H10 kit.

SO I ordered an Ultimate Bundle. Should be here next Tuesday/Wednesday so I wont know what I get till then.
Hoping for a LP800 or a pair of them, and a set of wheels would be killer.
Or the LP900 and a winch servo and a set of rims...

I'll do a Bundle Unboxing when it gets here on my Youboob channel "These Old Flappin' Lips".
Keep your eyes open if you are interested in what is in the bundles. Reefs (not sure of his first name) also said the bundles are different in each category so not all are the same.
He also said if they sell well (Ultimate Bundle seemed to sell out in about 15 minutes as they had 25 of each I think he said) they'll do another bundle sale Black Friday Next week, and again just before Christmas.

At any rate. It'll have a Reefs though unsure what they're sending. lol
That's another big gamble. Kind of fitting for this random theme of this kit. 🤣

My grey cage pieces arrived today, damn Amain is fast.
Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing your build thread. Hopefully everybody else that gets a kit will post a build thread as well.

Jato, I'm all for differences in opinions. HOWEVER, I want to choose my "happy" kit, not a random bs lottery "you get what you get" stuffed down your throat. I like the carbon fiber deal, that one looks cool.
Well I agree with this. I want to choose what I get.

Well, I look forward to seeing the Optic build threads pop up. I am debating whether to grab one of these first release kits considering that i already having the rtr. The addiction is real...

Just get one lol then we can all swap panels if need be. The more kits we get here the better chances we all get the panels we want.

Which servo is everybody going to use??? It seems like a lower profile servo would be beneficial to the center of gravity.

The CF panels are going to sell for more than the price of the RTR in my estimation if people know what they have.

The cage I bought came in Saturday. The previous owner just removed all the drivetrain and suspension and skid before selling it. It weighs almost 24 ounces according to my kitchen scale. I dont think a servo that is a few mm shorter in height and a few grams lighter is going to make much of a difference in COG. May as well just go with a standard size IMO.

I wonder how many carbon fiber panels will be out in circulation. It would be silly to put that ? on the box then reveal the panels if that were the only variant, so I'd guess there are others. Or maybe they plan on adding other variants into the mix as time goes on. It'll be interesting to see what price the panels bring. Some of the collectors out there will pay big $$.

I don't understand the hesitancy of running a low-profile servo these days. They are strong and put out tons of power. I can always add the brass servo mount if I feel I need more weight down low.

They said it would be a lot less than 1 per box for the carbon panels. Good point about the box, but they could make a small change and hide that panel, create a new variation, or just ignore it. Limited production "mysteries" are just that.

I've burned out 3 low profile servos this year. Two NSDRC RS700V2s and one Holmes SHV650LP. Never had that problem with full size servos. Many of which have been beat on pretty hard in comparison. But I was not saying that I would not run one on this, I was simply saying if COG is your only reason for wanting to run one, I think it is a moot point since the cage is so darn heavy.

Interesting. I have never blown a low-profile servo of a good brand. In fact, the only servos I've ever killed are Hitec micros and Tower Hobbies one in a monster truck which I think was a re-branded Hitec. The gears got play quickly.

The people on Facebook seem terrified of running low-profile servos. But then again, that's a special breed on there. 🤣

Vanquish website shows the first release "sold out" glad I ordered mine.

I watched Josh/Harley's new scale news update video today and he said that the carbon fiber is the only mystery variant and it would run for the life of the kit. Wonder how true that is. Doesnt make sense to me to put that on the box art as a mystery exclusive variant and then tell us what it is, but then again, I'm no marketing guy.

He also said the panels are worth more than the rest of the kit.

Like you say, no mystery just gotta be lucky haha.

panels are worth more than the rest of the kit
Will people really pay $400 or more the carbon panels? If I get them I'll deff be selling them

It wouldnt surprise me. Some of their limited edition stuff can get pretty expensive. I damn sure wouldnt pay it....carbon fiber wrap would look similar enough lol

Just saw this posted on Vanquish's FB page. Hopefully this means preorders are getting ready to ship soon!
