Optic Kit Coming

Any one order one of these yet?

I got one ... full clear one ... Now is time to thin out the herd ... 🤑 ... Jim leaked it right after the optic came out and said "wait for early next year (25) there was something coming. Save your money" ... I am happy I did not pull the trigger on the Optic kit or any of the metal cages available but that means that I will not be building an AR this year  ... I used my points and got a good discount I was not sure it would have worked but it did. Very happy and can't wait to check it out. It probably be a queen shelf TBH.

Beautiful, but the fact that it's an aluminum Optic and China has already beat them to the punch with aluminum cages, aluminum panels, and pretty much everything else, it doesn't have as much luster for me. I probably wouldn't buy one regardless because I like to drive and beat on RC's and I'd have a hard time doing that with this metal beauty. There's also no mention of how limited it is. That is everything IMO since the Ripper is worth so much because it was limited.

That Optic Origin is gorgeous. The weak canadian Peso puts it well out of what I could ever justify spending on an RC. It would likely be $5k or more here.

I could start selling rigs and start a cookie jar...

I dont think the Ripper was really limited. They were for sale for a while and sold as many as they sold. These have a serial number and IIRC he said there is a maximum number.

I am not sure if I'm going to buy one. I wish they had done an interactive builder so you could preview what they would look like with certain options. Trying to picture a bronze cage with gray panels, black axles, bronze wheels.

Good point. This does say it has a serial number on the product page.

I also wish the color selector was interactive and showed you what the rig looked like. Anodized orange can be cool as hell or disgusting. Red can be red or pink. Blue is all over the place.

I think my biggest hangup is, what am I going to do with it?

Everything i have has been pretty significantly modified, cut up, etc. I don't have anything that is stock. This has the equivalent of every upgrade part you could possibly add to an optic, plus some. Just build it and drive it every now and then? I honestly enjoy tweaking and modifying cars more than driving, and there's not really any room for that with this platform.

I'm not sure. Trying to think of it in terms of, will I regret buying it, or will I regret not buying it.

This sums it up for me pretty well.

I am definitely feel accountable to other people in my life. Word gets out i dropped said coin on an RC and I am more than likely subject to an intervention on more than one front..

While it may be an easier hide than a bicycle or a snowmobile my conscience would eat me alive.

...but there is no way I would buy this to be a shelf queen.

$3500? LOL. I don't care what it's made of, what serial number is on it, or how limited edition it is - that's flat ridiculous. I could almost buy 9 Optic kits for that.

I'll save up for an expensive RC but that's way overboard.
I've seen several Rippers go for $8000 and more. It may be an investment opportunity. Who knows what they will be worth in 5-10 years.

I regret not buying the original back in the day. I had it in my cart several times but always backed out.

This is awesome as expression of bragging rights in manufacturing and craftsmanship. $3500 is way too steep for me but I would put this into the category of fancy watches. Yes, the $100 Timex tells the time just as well as the $10000 Rolex, but the craftsmanship and brand cachet of a Rolex is where the perceived value is.

Likewise an Optic Kit would likely do the exact same thing as this, probably better because plastic is lighter, but like the Ripper that came before this, it's meant to showcase what Vanquish can do with all their resources and collective skills as a company.

Can't wait to see folks build these up and hopefully use them. I wouldn't be surprised if they sit on shelves but that's okay, we have plenty of non limited Optics for outside activities.

Clear Cage/Axles, Orange Panels/Wheels.
I wanted to have the ability to have the panels anodized or cerakoted later down the road. It does say 3 month lead as well.
3 months depends on what colors you ordered and what they already have on hand. With Speedy=Triple going all clear, he may see it really soon. they say INSTOCK so....

Not just a serial number, they have a damn Title. lol

Now to wait.

I absolutely love this hobby, but not enough to drop that kind of bread just to buy a single rig. But if somebody were to offer a rig of such quality, Vanquish is the name and I like seeing this for the hobby. They've offered us budget friendly RTRs and kits the past few years and then release this behemoth. Whoever on here that also has a Ripper, be sure to take pics of both of them in a shot!
