Optic Kit Coming

I received my kit Saturday, had it running the next day. Just playing around on my basment rocks, it isn't bad. Treps and Treal knuckles coming soon. I really want to add rear steer to this thing, might have to get a front axle while it's on discount.

Nice. I really like this rig. Even more interested as it is a kit. Really really like the teal body panel color...

Debating on grabbing a kit...

Wonder if they plan to release all those colors individually like they do for the RTR color scheme?

Yes, Vanquish said they were intending to offer the colored panels and decal combos hopefully starting early next year.

I decided to do 4ws from the start on my kit build. I have only had it out once but man it is fun. You will have to modify or remove the fuel cell to clear the rear servo.

Welp I grabbed one. Like I need another Rc...

But I really enjoy building kits. Didnt realize I had store credit at Amain and it took the Amain Coopin code so saved 50$

Hope I get one of the cool colors to hold me over until the release the body panels separately.

Thanks for posting the coupon code, guys - now it's YOUR fault for making me add another vehicle to my collection, RTR Optic on its way for $100 off!

:badger:

(loads of other parts to make it mine on the way, electronics upgrades will need to wait a month or two...)

Speaking of that - is there a agreed upon recommendation for best version of the HW Fusion to use in the Optic?

Will the 1800 SE be decent enough? Not going to comps, just want fun at a reasonable price...

I sure hope Vanquish or SOMEBODY comes up with a full metal upgrade for the hydro steering setup...

I've got the 2300kv in mine. I'm not sure I'd be happy with anything slower. I'd probably go even higher kv if I could find something suitable with FOC for the slow crawls..

I agree with @Yurkia. I use the 2300kv Fusion Pro and I think anything less wouldn't be enough speed because of the way I drive. You may wheel more sanely or sedately.

Edited be because i dont think that will fit.

I sent hobbywing an email requesting a 2800ish kv fusion. Maybe if more of us inquired about it, they would do it.

Axe r3 combos. I'm thinking i might go for the 2800kv. That on 4s should be pretty awesome.

Yeah, that price isn't suitable for my wallet. Lol I'm more apt to try an AM32/outunner combo on 4s. Have a set that's really to fast for my lcg rig I could use.

I'm avoiding Castle ESCs because of the noise. I was tempted to try the new Holmes Hobbies silent ESC with one of the motors I already have, but I'm more in favor of the minimal wiring setup that the Fusion provides. I just went ahead and ordered the HW Fusion Pro 2300kv and set up payment for next month - what the heck, why not?

:ROFLMAO:(y)

I have the Pro 2300 in my rtr. It's a sweet spot for my terrain. As much as I would love to set up a rig to crawl some of that massive and dry desert slab we just don't have that round here. It's more fun to have both the wheel speed and smooth creep.
I am tempted to try that 2800kv axe system Col.Sanders suggested in my kit build. I would like a bit more speed but don't want the Mamba whine.
