Just got this for the Stache. More drop, and stealth routing.

Playing out west after true grit 100. Awesome places to ride out here. Test rode a pivot switchblade on 27+ and it was super fun.

Hpi, manitous are great forks and really fun to play with especially when you start messing with the shim stack.

Another day for me riding in the desert. :)

I'm recovering from a big crash last weekend, fast flat left hand corner that I've ridden maybe 150 times . I remember approaching the corner at speed and thats it ! I must have high sided and landed on my head and right shoulder, the next memory I have is wandering around with double vision about 10ft from my bike . Riding by myself and taking a while to work out where I was and finding my car to drive home was all a bit of a challenge but its all good now . My shoulder is trashed ( still need meds and ice packs) and my helmet is smashed in half which is the purpose of this post .
Anyone using a MIPS helmet ? Are they worth the extra cash ?
I know Bells old ad " if you have a $10 head get a $10 helmet " rings true im looking at maybe the POC or TLD trail/ enduro lids . Any suggestions ?

Where is Santa Clara Utah?

Santa Clara City a small town adjacent to St George and is located in the far southwest corner of the state, just 8 miles from the Arizona border. St. George is directly off Interstate 15, just 120 miles North of Las Vegas NV, 300 miles South of Salt Lake City, and 380 miles from Grand Junction CO.

rupps5 - Thanks, I've read nothing but good things about this fork over at MTBR, so I'm excited to try it out.

nothkona - Hate to hear about the crash man, take good care of that shoulder and make sure you didn't do any permanent damage.

Eeepee, santa clara is where the race was. Now we are touring through AZ. Did 2 days in sedona, 2 days in Phoenix, next we are going to Tuscan for a few days.

I think for the 10 or so extra dollars mips is worth it.

I don't care, it's wonderful weather here back home and you're totally missing it. So scenic and beautiful here. Fantastic sunset tonight. Wearing shorts and a wife beater hanging out on the front steps, even at 9pm. And Hans Rey is here hopping around all over the place with his monkey.

So :flipoff:

^^Very nice, sounds like an expensive purchase though.

I spent the afternoon cutting, and installing my new fork and dropper post. I took my time cutting, and drove the star nut in with the fork laying on it's side so as not to put any pressure on the rebound adjuster or air valve. Found a trick online to use an old stem as a guide for the star nut setting tool, worked like a champ.

Don't care, cause Hans Rey's monkey drank all my beer and slept over last night.

I need help.... Dose anyone know if I can put disk brakes on my 96 Gary Fisher Joshua X mtb? It looks like there's brackets already on the swing arm like it was a factory option.

Hard to say from the photo, but it doesn't look like it. I don't see mounts on fork. And you may need a special rear adapter, Treks aka Gary Fisher required a special adapter in the early days of disc brakes. But at the very least you will need new wheels that have hubs that are disc compatible. That alone will be fairly costly.

You would need disk specific hubs and a fork that has caliper mounts. Rear does have caliper mounts but may be non standard because when they made your bike they were still figuring the standard out.
