Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

That is a big ass climb! Around here in NJ best you can usually find is ~1200 feet per 10 miles. I just followed you on strava - looks like you have some amazing riding out there!

We definitely have some serious riding out here. Lots of cool spots close to here.
Followed you also."thumbsup"

Anyone getting into the 29er+ category? I just bought a gravity 29plus from BD. Pretty nice bike for the money.

I've been on 29ers since 2007. I bought my first 29er on a whim because Jensen was blowing out Jamis hardballs. I figured I'd get one to pull the kids around in the trailer.

I rode that 29er for about a month and sold my 26 inch wheel bikes. I'm now on my 5th 29er since then. Never going back. Too used to the way they fit me and the way they roll. 26 inch wheels feel like BMX wheels now.

picked up a specialized hard rock and pursuit helmet for 200, gotta love pawn shops.

long story short, the huffy was just a pain to ride, nothing felt right riding it and it was just discouraging. my brother came over and was impressed with my weight progress (down 60 since february) and i see this as an investment. not so much in the bike, though deals are nice, but in my health. due to the nature of gravel roads and people not paying attention, the full helmet was a prudent purchase.
