Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

Anyone getting into the 29er+ category? I just bought a gravity 29plus from BD. Pretty nice bike for the money.

rottenbelly, I hope your son heals up quickly my friend. That looks nasty!

No 29+ here, but wouldn't mind trying a 27.5+ on my SS though. Problem is, I'd need a new fork first, so not going to happen.

Well my son took a really bad spill. Concussion and 2 layers of about 40 stiches and a broken thumb.
Helmet was split and chunked up.
Good thing is he is already asking for a full face helmet for when he gets back on the bike. Any recommendations on a full face helmet?
Removeable chin bar, yes or no?

I got myself an Airoh Aviator 2.1 for my Dirtbike and was amazed at how light and well vented it was . I will use mine next time i go Downhilling"thumbsup"

I don,t know how much you pay for Full face MTB helmets over in America , but in Australia its ridiculous , Top of the range Moto helmets are cheaper:shock:

Probably won't do 29+, but I'm really curious about the 27.5+ bikes. I probably won't buy one anytime soon or own one as a primary bike, but I wouldn't mind having one to mess about with.

they are fun to ride, i can tell ya that much. i have a fat bike and i didnt like the self steer you get with them but i still wanted a larger tire and a semi light bike. on my specialized hardtail i cant get to large of a tire on there so i just opted to buy a gravity from bd. it has the option of going up to a 4" tire. the geometry is pretty nice and the bike is nimble. its 100% rigid so that gives ya a work out but so far i like it.

ill get a pic up as the one on bd website has different geometry then the one they sent me.

Riding has been great. Getting in as much as I can before it gets too hot and dusty.

Couple romantic shots from the last rides.

just starting with a barn find bike. it has been a number of years since i touched a bike, but winter weight wears on me. it's a pos huffy women's model (actually nice for not racking my nuts when i fall off.) should do for a while, my thought is to ride it into the ground, and upgrade of i can keep up with it.

driveway is 400 meters according to google maps, i'm doing a hard push to top gear then idling off for the rougher sections behind the shed. with the amount of equipment moving (spring in mn farming areas is hectic) around, i don't want to hit the gravel roads. its a handy way to get blasted by a tractor.

did 2 rounds on the driveway, thinking tomorrow i may hit the plowed field a bit. just harder terrain and i can do some measuring as well.

I'll be getting my bike back Saturday, brought 'er in for a free tune up (since I still have them until June) and to have my new set of Jagwire Mountain Pro cables, Speed Dial 7's and Shimano CN-HG91 chain installed.

I actually just picked up a brand new bike. Nothing fancy or special, it was really cheap, but has quality components, and set up by someone I trust (who is actually blind).

I'll get pics later, if my phone isn't dead.

Got her back with fresh suspension, new cranks/pedals, rebuilt front hub and an overall tune-up. I wanted to do the work myself, but decided to learn how to wrench on bikes on my cannondale, which if it falls apart likely won't kill me haha. Going out for a weekend of trail riding in the mountains "thumbsup"
