Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

^^Nice lid, please let me know how you like it as I've been eyeballing that one for myself.

I feel like I'm never gonna get back on the bike this season. I had a cut that got infected, and spread into my blood stream and lymph nodes about a month ago. I cleaned it well with alcohol, etc, just bad luck. I finally started feeling back to normal and got out for one ride, then tweaked my back doing stuff around the house getting ready to move. Was headed for my first Pisgah trip this weekend too dammit. Oh well, keep posting those pics to keep me motivated.

Not much to see, but have been out for a few riiips now that the snow is just about melted. Sticking to the pavement for the most part as the ground is still frozen and or wet.

Took her in today to get looked over, turns out the shock and fork need to get sent to vancouver for a rebuild  Oh well, when I get her back it should be like a new bike between the suspension and some cranks/pedals.

First ride of the year for shorts and short sleeves! Bring on the good weather.

Will do. I have work tomorrow and thursday but friday to sunday are free and I want to ride all three days.

New wheel set mounted up and bike weighs in at 19.9# and I am as lite as I can get without losing power at 142#. Ohio race series starts next weekend-perfect. Now we need some nice weather to boost some power up with more outdoor training.

I got the MIPS version of the Super 2 on Thursday and took it for a ride on Friday. So far I'm really stoked on it...the fit is awesome, which is my primary concern. There were times I forgot I had a helmet on. I have a bigger head and sometimes can't wear any sort of warm hat under a helmet because it makes the helmet too tight. Bald people problems. With the Super 2, I can comfortably fit warm hats under the helmet, which is awesome. The ventilation isn't bad...not as good as some ultra vented helmets, but not bad. We'll see how it feels when the weather gets hotter.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback jsowens. Anytime you can forget you're wearing a helmet, that's the best sales pitch a lid can receive IMO.

""My B Day present from the Wife, 2015 Specialized Camber 29. My last bike a GT Karakorem Elite was stolen a few months back when she forgot to close the garage. Worse, I was 10 feet away in the kitchen and didn't hear a thing.
Anyway it's a hell of an upgrade. I'm taking it out this morning for its maiden voyage...can't wait! """

BMUZZ (brian),
very nice.... do you ever make it out to the san tans? i (friends) tend to ride out there every weekend. I am making it back out there slowly since breaking my wrist & a finger over thanksgiving weekend:cry: i finally rode out there this past weekend (about 9mi) still a little sore... and winded too:lmao:. sorry to hear about the theft... but it looks (sounds) like it worked out a little better8). i am not brave (in shape too) to ride national yet:ror:

In no way am I in shape. LOL! My knees were killing me (burn) and boy was I winded. Good thing about S. Mtn is that it is just 5min from my house.
I am hoping to get my cardio up and am going to start doing some leg exercises at home before I try to do 9mi of trail again. I need to get in shape for the night rides at McDowell in a few weeks, those are a blast.

If you think that's bad, I couldn't do a 1 mile loop here last year without 2 or 3 stops. By the end of the season, I did my hardest ride of the year on my single speed, 20 miles of it here in the mountains. One of the greatest feelings ever for me personally. I won't tell you how many times I wanted to quit on that ride. "Just go get the truck, I'll be laying here in the weeds so nobody runs me over to put me out of my misery."
