Does not sound like he replaced the chain rings. So you are probably skipping the new chain around the old front chainrings

bingo, rupps5 got it. I took it apart last night and it was my middle ring. I don't use the big ring too much and most of the time the middle. Found a small bend on one of the tooth, causing the chain to sort of snap in place from time to time making it seem like it skipping. Thanks guys

I said chainrings. I mean really, it can be one of like, three things. Beauty of bike are their simplicity.

Finally hit Tsali on the single speed today. It was nowhere near as bad as I had thought in my mind. I re-geared to 32/22 before the ride, and I made every climb but one, and got fouled right at the top of that one.

A couple of my riding buds

Iceman was pretty cool. Raced almost the whole race with the pro women. Then got to pull trek factory racer and Olympian emily batty in for her 2nd place finish. Have to say it was pretty awesome riding with them.

Raced with the Pro Women cause they caught up to you? :ror:

Yeah, very cool. She's cute.

^^NICE, congrats man!!

Got in my first (successful :D) night ride tonight. I added another Xeccon light (spiker 1206) on the bars and it's much better than the cheapo POS I had. Rode for a little over an hour and was beat, I still feel the Tsali ride from Sunday and the lower speeds means you don't hit climbs with as much momentum on the SS. Still a lot of fun though, and needless to say, I had the trails to myself. Got some video, but too tired to edit it tonight.

I also spent about 15 minutes post ride doing this, proof that bicycles turn everyone into a kid again!

Got my new bike today and took it out after an hour of fiddling with everything, mainly pumping up the suspension. Short summary of the bike: Carbon 29er w/130mm of travel front and rear, XT rear derailleur with an X7 up front both mated to SLX pods, Formula C1 brakes( quiet and smooth but could use some more power to stop my fat ass), Specialized bar, stem, grips, rims, tires, seat post, and saddle. Overall it's a really good bike. The tires are actually pretty grippy and it isn't to bad at climbing. Backs kinda sore from being stretched out and I can't make sharp uphill left turns worth a sh!t. So, pretty much a good day.

Awesome! Just started night riding myself. Went on my third ride last night. 3hrs on local single track in 20+ degrees:twisted: Opens up a lot of riding time.

1x10.. I'm in love! I just converted to a 32x11-42 using one up components big cog and rad cage on xt rear derailleur. I've still got the gearing I need to climb most anything and I lost the weight of a shifter pod, front derailleur, and chain rings. Anyone else tried this yet?

I haven't done the 42t conversion, but I'm running 1x10 with a 30t up front and 11-36 in the back and really like it. It dropped roughly a pound off my bike weight. I'm likely gonna do a 40t conversion on the rear when I replace my cassette.

OTHGbronco82, your bike looks like the carbon 29er twin of my bike! haha. I'm a big fan of the matte black Stumpys.
