Official Chesapeake, VA beach, Suffolk Trail Run Thread

hello I see you are looking for new people to hit the trails with I have a few trucks and would like to join you all on a trail run. I live in Gloucester. I see that you run a lot in va beach that's not to long of a ride for me. The weekends are days I can run.

Welcome. You have found the right place to sync up with us and join us on the trail. Subscribe to this thread (so you'll get notified of posts) and join us one of these weekends. Post #1 of this thread has a lot of information including the locations and links to some relevant threads, so be sure to check that out too.

What kind of rigs do you have?

scx10, trailfinder2, wraith and just picked up a dingo kit. I've been using tips and tricks from other people builds to give me ideas for my trucks. there's a lot of creative people on here. the next get together you have I would like to join if that's ok.

Great! We are all mostly SCX10 based rigs, so yours will fit right in!

Not sure if anything is going on this weekend, regardless I don't think I'll be around to RC however the next weekend (11th) I should be ready for action!

Meeting up as a whole on a monthly basis is a bad ass idea. NCO Academy robbed me of time the past couple months, now I'm buying a house and a 1:1 Tacoma and I still have to knock out my CCAF sometime in between. Having that one meet-up day would be bad ass to keep in touch with everyone and still allow to squeeze in a small crawling session here and there with other members.

Having said that I will be building a course in the backyard as well >=] and the Tacoma will come in handy when "acquiring" rocks

Also both rigs are almost operational again but I won't have time to run until next weekend, whatever you guys decide on I will be in although I do work until 1500 on sundays only

Been gone for a few days and I can see a lot has happened on the board. I like the ideal of one big run a month and small meetings when we can. What about this weekend? You guys want to meet up and talk face to face. I'm planning on maybe running over at Ipswich on Sunday.

I will try to make it out Sunday. I need to finish up mounting our bodies. I ain't been able to fit any bench time in this week

Got the front body mounts installed. I'm happy with the results. I said before that I plan on a custom tube bed. Not sure when i'm going to get to the fab work so in the mean time I need a way to secure the rear of the f-250 cab. I want to avoid any unnecessary holes at this point. Maybe some temporary magnets or even velcro. Nah f#$k velcro.

So..... I got sick of dealing with a POS soldering iron so I ordered this beastly GQ Electronics 5200 hot air/soldering station. The iron heats up to a sweet 900°.

Looks good. Are you going to be able to make it out to Ipswich tomorrow? I plan on being out there around 1. I hope to see some of you guys out there.
